RHD Projector Headlights with CCFL Angel Eyes -- Australia

I thought I would show you RHD projector headlights with dual CCFL Angel Eyes.

The boys at Mars Performance sure know their stuff. I am very happy. I am running 5800 halogens and decided against the HID kit.

It took just over 1.5 hours. I was going to do it myself, but for $150 and the peace of mind (warranty) I avoided having to prise apart the bumper and side wing. The rest is easy. The attached is not my bumper, but a photo I found elsewhere, and it shows the way the bar and side wing clip together.

I see ... yes, it is a reflection. The blinker glass is clear, but the reflector makes them look orange in the shots. Our blinker lights do not come on with the rest of the lights .... unlike the US ... only when using the turn indicators.

In the attached shot, it looks like there are two bulbs, but that too is a reflection. LOL

Yeah, thats what I figured. Some stealth bulbs might solve that.

I got them from Mars Performance. They are RHD unlike Spyder brand headlights.

They are specially made for them. Contact them. Freight to the UK can't be any worse than from the UK.

Stealth LEDs

Because of the offset bayonets, I had to order them from the UK. Those I bought are CANBUS compliant, but sticking a resistor across the wires on any LED renders it to read like a bulb as it reduces the power going to the LEDs.

I guess, I'll have to remove the plate in the wheel well to get to the blinkers on the new headlights. Such is life.

Ordered these CANBUS compliant LEDs

I too saw that their website was down ... NOW FIXED. Their eBay Store is operational.

Yes, the Angel Eyes are awesome. The brilliant LED parking light in the high beam reflects through the blue halogen giving it an ice-cool look.

Now I realized when you mentioned about the RHD and LHD lights, you were talking about whole housing swap! I was so confused before.. now it's all clear to me. These angel eyes are definitely much brighter than any type of bulb/led swaps!

I'm also interested in getting these. Did you have any issues with errors codes?

No error codes. I am buying CANBUS compliant stealth LED bulbs for the blinkers. I will have to fit these. I recommend getting these first and having Mars Performance install them before they put the lights in. This is purely for cosmetic reasons. I put the link in an earlier post in this thread. Mars do not stock these.

I already had very white and bright CANBUS compliant LED parking bulbs ... these go into the holder in the high beam lights. Mars do stock these. Because my high beam halogens are blue, there is the blue tinge in the lights when the high beam is off. Looks neat I feel.

It cost me $150 for them to fit the headlights ... worth every peso. They did a great job. The lights are well sealed from moisture and there is a 2-year warranty on the headlights.

Yes indeed ... CCFL is brilliant white and no dull spots as occurs when LEDs/bulbs are fitted and expected to shine around a cheap plastic ring stuck onto the front of the headlight reflectors like in the the photo of a Spec-D headlight. Don't touch them.

Yes, the housing is for RHD cars. Some after market lights have a nut that is claimed to swivel the projector a couple of degrees. After pulling one LHD brand apart I am not convinced.
Spyder stated in an email that they had sold LHDs to RHD car owners and had no complaints ... okay but did anyone ask the drivers coming the other way? Perhaps the boys in blue might have a view on this ... but I don't want to find out.
