Akrapovic Slip-On with Wireless kit, N55 midpipes

Recorded this clip just this morning, and thought I'd post it on here since there aren't many clips of the sound of the Akrapovic Slip-On. I've had the N55 midpipes on since before, and this is running with JB4 Map 2 as well.

Stationary pulls to 3, 4, 5k rpms with valve closed and then open.

Sounds great, I have a similar setup (Slip On + MadDad) and sounds just about the same. The crackle and pop (in valves open mode) is intoxicating, you captured it well here! Enjoy!

PS: Did you do before and after dynoes? I did and will post results soon

Sounds amazing man! Everyone has been raving about the open valves rarrrr, so I skipped the wireless kit purchase and went with the evolution - planning on filing off the plug when I install. Can't wait!!

Poisonous... you'll make me broke!
The backfiring really suits this car's character.

///M1, unfortunately, I didn't do any pre and post dyno runs. The butt likes it anyhow.

It really does sound great. And I've been told it sounds even better on a drive by! I drive with the valves open mostly, except when I'm pulling into my neighbourhood at night.

Yeah, if you don't have the valve control you definitely want to modify your blocking plate. It should be simply to remove the block, it is welded in a couple of spots so perhaps you can bust it right off. That was the one souvenir I was left with at hand after the install (it becomes an extra piece rendered useless as the valves replace it), quality is so good that in no way I am throwing that 'trophy'

If my results are any indication, you picked up about 10whp / 8wtq. And these results were dynoing the car straight off the lift, without any adaptation, so it is perhaps higher (with the valves closed it was still a gain, but about 2-3whp/wtq less than with the valves open). I'll play with the Dynojet WinPep software and post a graph shortly showing the true delta

This is the exact same setup that I have ordered for my upcoming 1M! This video made my day. So much win!
If you're able to record a drive by clip I would be even happier

How did you find the N55 midpipes before installing the Akra slip-on? Are the N55 midpipes worth it?

I'm trying to get a HD recording done of a drive by with a friend. Will post that up once we have it!

The N55 mids definitely made the stock exhaust sound louder and more raw, some amount of crackling. Felt like the throttle response was improved somewhat.

The price of the slip on seems to be much higher now?! Before, I saw $2k, but now 3500?! Thats pushing it just for an axle back.

It was never $2K, you probably never counted the tips, which are listed separate (yet you cannot buy them as a standalone option, nor can you buy the exhaust without the tips). Always been pricey, it's the DPs that doubled in price.

I saw it in the estimated prices I believe Harold posted. You're right, it doesn't account for the tips. Looks like borla is very likely if their prices are decent.

It is actually possible to buy the slip-on without tips, I know that because thats what I did Saved me 800 euros!
Ordered N55 pipes, Akra slip-on and wireless valve. The tips will be custom made. The only thng missing is the car that will arrive in 1,5 months...

+2, in the US there was never a vendor that could get these split up. Akra's response was that even though there is a different part number for the tips, they use that for cataloguing purposes and you can't order just the tips, nor can you order just the exhaust as a standalone. Perhaps in other parts of the world its different?

Akra slip-on with-out tips? What tips are you guys thinking of ? I know Magnaflow tips should be good, but... if I did it, I would probably got it with the tips to match the system.
