18' run flats with 10,000 miles and they are looking pretty worn. Anyone replace theirs and if so how many miles were on them.

14,000 miles and they look almost new. I think it might be because i one dont have a sport package and two bc of the way that i drive. I can almost guarentee that I will go 50K b4 new tires.

50k miles on runflats?? Is that even possible?? Good thing I didnt get the ZSP then. haha you guys are looking at about $1k for every 10k miles.

I will try and get a picture for my tires. I honestly think its all on your driving bc everything on my car is lasting longer than the norm. My first oil change is due at 21K, my brakes are at 38K and 41K. MAybe im wrong but even on my old pontiac i had some tires that lasted for 40K+.

c4s4ss, I'm assuming that you have the sports package w/ the potenza's. The treadwear on those are 140 which is pretty bad. I had the same, but at 6,000 looking worn but not really bad, I"d say that you should be able to get 20k out of them, and at $700.00 for just the rear tires....you get the picture. What is the treadwear on 17" tires for the rest of you guys? Over 350?

mine went through 15K miles and hard driving. I still had like 40% tread left. But then some prick decided to slash peoples tires that left their cars out in the street in my neighborohood. Fuckers. Now im on 712 Kuhmos and they are sticky as hell.

I am definitly not buying runflats again. Artz330 has the best idea.. Just buy some Kuhmos for less than half the price and get the emergency tire repair thing from Continental: http://www.tirerack.com/accessories/...tkit/index.jsp

The tires will last at least twice as long and they are half the price!! It's a no brainer!! With the money you save on tires you could even purchase an identical backup rim (or rims) in case you ever do have a complete blowout.

the only problem is if you get the tire goo, sealer whatever, if you get a a hole in the tire you wont be able to patch it.

That's why you bring your spare rim/tire with you on extended trips.

Or get the tire repair kit where you push a plug through the hole. I've used this method for years now and I've never had one fail.

If you go this route, don't forget to travel with a BMW jack and tire wrench so you can do the tire changeover.

My 325 XiT has ContiProContact SSR all-seasons; the treadware rating is 400, traction AA, temp A.
We'll see how well they wear, but for all seasons; they perform very well in both wet and dry conditions. I briefly tried Pirelli Euphori@s on my car. The ride was very harsh over rough pavement and tramlining was severe on rutted roads, so I switched back to the OEM Contis.

Wow...I am surprised you guys are getting anything over 18K. Shoot I could barely get 18K on non runflats on my bimmers. I expect to make it to 10K on these. I will admit...I drive the way this car was intended to be driven! Onramps, exit ramps means more throttle!! Curious...you guys who are getting high mileage...in other words over 20K. What is your age range?

come on, a spare tire with you on trips? Tire sealant, fix a flat, tire plugs, etc. etc.? Well then add the jack, tire iron, wheel lock key, ....oh yeah, how are you going to fill the tire after the flat...so add your compressor, warning triangle, flares and any other tools that you might need. Driving during rainy season, got pretty decent clothes on (like a suit) and make sure you brought a rain suit and some different shoes. After all that shit in your car, there would be no space for luggage or people.

Of course I took this a bit too far, but you see where I'm getting at. It's either pony up for the runflats, or live on the edge. I doubt that even 1% of us are going to buy a spare rim and tire to keep in the trunk. Good luck and I really hope that you are never cursed to have a flat on the expressway during construction where there is only 2 lanes and no shoulder (The dan ryan I-94 in Chicago right now for the next two years).

no1sportz, I have 6mt w/ sport and I also drive agressive, but only did a burnout once (I love my baby too much). I am 24, and at almost 7k miles, I noticed some wear on the tires, but don't have a doubt that they would have lasted around 20k miles. Too bad the car is totalled now, so I have to start over w the countdown w/ the tire wear.

mine look like crap...... the outsides are worn really bad
i have ~ 5600 miles... still a decent amount of tread, they just look beat. i will try to get some pics tomo. i too drive it how it was meant to be driven tho
