so many choices, so confusing!

I've read and read and read, and listened to youtube posts, and listened and listened and listened.. I'm more confused..

I want an exhaust that I can hear in the car, but is not necessarily loud. I definitely do not want any drone.

MadDad, Berk, CP-e, BMW-P, EAS, etc... where to begin? Getting the Berk downpipe for the N55, resulting in 20+ hp while increasing sound a bit sounds great, but I am eliminating cats, right?

Thoughts, suggestions, comments welcome!

The stock exhaust sounds like exactly what you are looking for. Honestly. there are really not than many choices compared to most other car markets. If you think we have a lot of choices take look at any aftermarket Honda or VAG 1.8t webstore. That is some serious overload.

What type of exhaust are you looking for? Downpipe, axleback, full? With a downpipe you will not really be able to hear it without other exhaust modifications. Most downpipes do delete the cats but many companies offer high flow "race cats" if you require emmisions testing/care about the environment.

Maddad also offers a whisper exhaust which I think, paired with a downpipe, would be perfect for you.

I want to hear the exhaust inside the car, no doubt. The stock exhaust is borderline silent for me. I hear the whisper is almost as quiet on the inside.. too quiet. I need to hear it, but don't want obnoxious, and don't want drone.

Ahh, as always, exhaust sounds and the definitions vary a lot by user.

Are there any local Bay Area peeps who would allow me to take a ride with them so I can hear their exhaust? I'll buy the coffee!

check this out...http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showt...P+Berk+Exhaust.

This is what I would do if I were looking to replace the stock set up. My interest has diminished a bit since I spent money on the Cobb Access Port and other stuff.

Get compliments all the time how classy it sounds. it'll roar when you gas it but normal driving it just sounds sporty, not "tuned"
