How much ground clearance do you have?
I'm moving and shipping my car 2300+ miles in May. I called around to get quotes today and was told I need four inches of ground clearance to get on the hauler.
I get home today and did some measurements of the lowest part of the undercarriage that I could which happens to be under the front suspension/motor area. This is close....really close. Has anyone else ever measured their clearance? The guy I bought the car off did some suspension work but I'm not sure how much he lowered it vs stock. I'm assuming this is not stock height. Here's a pic.... |

When I bought my car in 2009, the official spec was 5.5" ground clearance, and I've lowered it 0.5". My previous car was an RX-8 with 4.5" official ground clearance. I think my 135i is 1/2" higher than the RX-8, because it doesn't scrape over speed bumps that the RX-8 did scrape.

4 inches is probably a conservative estimate so that people don't run into problems. I bet you'll be fine
