First off I didn't go to the dealership and blindly pay 2k. As stated if you read, I went to another shop prior and was quoted at 1000 for new rotors. Then went to BMW and for the whole break system (pads, rotors etc.) was quoted 2k... I paid 1000 for new rotors. Period.

Why don't you just get 135i brakes installed if they're the same? My dealer quoted me $580 and some change to have them installed on my 128i. I haven't done it yet, I'll wait until I need to change my pads then I'll get the 135i brake kit installed.

I did Stoptech drilled front rotors, stock rear rotors and Cool Carbon pads at 30K miles on my 128. Did the job myself, saved some bucks and reduced my brake dust to boot. Since my pad sensors had not gone off I was able to simple reuse them.

The 135 brake kit is below $2K plus labor to install right around $2600 for the upgrade.
