well iCarbon was $800. $1k is a bit much seeing as our cars aren't that expensive. $1k lip on a $75k M3 or $90k 911... sure. on a $40k 1er... its a bit much. If they somehow made it $600ish the market would be booming, they'd sell a lot of pieces but also make a pretty good amount per item. Market equilibrium is what they need to find, $1k isn't it.

There are full carbon construction front lips for M3s for $400? Not sure I've seen those. A urethane lip would definitely be do able in the $400-$600 range, but the tooling costs involved are very expensive for as small a market as the 1er is. I would imagine we would need to do a group by to cover the initial costs of something like this. Keep in mind these would all be made in the US. Not some cheap China imitation part.

^I understand the points you make,
but it just seems that the majority of us are looking for lips in the ~500$ range, but thanks for trying to make this work

+1 for the $500 range. Anything above that are its ridiculous for the price point of the car. I can see higher prices for 100k+ or even 75k+ cars as the buyer demographic is different. For us its just plain dumb to spend that much on a purely cosmetic piece.

i'd do one of those lips, but not for 1K. I agree, I mean, for my Evo for example, a really nice quality APR lip is only $550, its just the amount the car is worth. I can't think a front lip for this car should be over $800 at the very most.
the 3D design parts are the most absurdly priced parts, IDK how they sell a single piece. |
