Whill Thus Rub ??

Hi to all i have to change my 255/35/18 rear tyres and what to know if i can install 255/40/18 in the rears with the oem wheels and oem suspention ???

Why are you looking for a taller tire? I would stick with a 255/35/18 to keep the rolling diameter as close to OEM as possible.

hello and thanks for the answer.

its because i wnat to change the wheels and tyres but for no run flats, so i think 255/35/18 its going to be to small for the pot hole we have here in colombia so i think 255/40/180 will work better.

the profile (side wall) will be taller in a 225/35 because the width has increased 10mm compared to the 245/35. It will be enough rubber to deal with pot holes etc. 255/40 is an overkill IMO.

I take it you meant what? do some research, there are plenty of tire/wheel calculators that calculate tire height width etc. this also slightly changes your speedo reading.

245/35R18 = 24.7"

255/35R18 = 25.0"

255/40R18 = 26.0"
