at a dead end and don't know what to do
My lease is up in June 2013 and I've been contemplating on whether I want to keep the car or move on. The car has 50,129 miles on it now and I've had it in the shop many many times since day 1. I've had it in the shop for basic issues the N54 is known for and recalls: ie injectors, HPFP, and 3rd brake light.
I just replaced my water pump a month ago and this is why I need some guidance on what to do. The car has only 50k and its already needing "big parts". My dealership sux I had to pay for all of the labor and all of the waterpump, they refused to help me with a goodwill, and my warranty went out this past July. As far as mods go the car has: Eisenmann exhaust, ITG air filter, BMW PPK (software only), M3 front sway bar. The car handles like shit and the acceleration is suppressed alot. Last year they cleaned out the valves from carbon buildup. Could I need this done again already? My goal since October was to keep the vehicle if I run into no problems until June. I'd love to keep the car because it's an 08 and amongst other reasons. As of now I'm between a rock and a hard place and I dont know what to do. |

The water pump and thermostat is the only real major maintenance item that is somewhat common and hasn't gotten extended coverage due to lawsuits afaik. Find out the buyout price, figure out if you want this car or a different one. Shop around and get different buyout prices(doesn't have to be your own dealer). Best of luck!
