135i e82 CCC (Business) Reverse Cam
I hate the optical reverse sensor in the 135i and always wanted a reverse cam integrated into the stock CCC screen.
I pretty much was told by every car installer it can't be done, except for one and he told me its going to cost around 2k, yeah right, dream on. So I started doing research and having mechanical and electronic knowledge I decided to bite the bullet and attempt it myself. There is no kits available for the e82 CCC integration video input so I had to use one from another model and modify it. The whole process can be made plug and play and install would take around an hour at best or if you want to splice wires around 1.5 to 2 hrs, depending on your skills. You can also attach another 2 video sources of your choice like an iPod and digital TV or anything else with rca video output. I'll be integrating the TV at a later stage just got to find a decent in-car antenna that works properly. It works on the can bus system so its fully automated when you put it in reverse, the other two inputs are operated by the CCC control knob or an external button if you wish. Everything sits under the CCC Unit or anywhere else you like and is totally hidden. Best part about it the whole kit is under 400 AUD Last edited by martymil; 07-19-2014 at 10:02 PM.. |

here you go I forgot to add that you have to take the back of the monitor off, its easy and plug the 10 pin cable directly into the monitor from the box. The easiest way is to cut the original cable and get a new one because if you take the original out you loose a swivel bush for the monitor, hard to explain. this is the cable you have to get and it goes from the headunit to the box and they supply the cable from the black box to the screen. |

The ccc screen quality is quite surprisingly very good for what it is
Just a quick floor setup with a bodgie antenna. Got me stuffed why BMW Australia never came up with this. |

No the ccc system is not powerful enough and hasn't got the power or memory unless we could retro fit a e90 ccc proffesional system into our cars but coding could be a problem.
If someone could chime in on this one with this knowledge, could this be done ? The system your showing is the cic system and that can be done but only if your willing to part with 3k plus |

Wow! That is super impressive! I'm pretty confident when it come to electrical work on the car, but this I like level 9000 on my scale.
So many questions! I can't even imagine how you integrated this into the CAN of a car which didn't even have reverse camera as an option (AFAIK?) |
