Glad I saw this about CommInsure, I was about to go with them for the other car. I thought I could nominate my own repairer but now on re-reading, it's clear they don't give that option. OP, how did you go with getting them to use your repairer instead of theirs? If I'm going to allow the insurance company to use their own bodgy repairers I would just go with AAMI as they are by far the cheapest if you meet their criteria... not going to do that with a BMW though...

the police have the license plate and a photo of the guy that hit me.. no insurance, suspended license and out of date registration.... in other words a complete waste of skin and air and a drain on society. Will have to see what happens but I bet I am still out the deductible...

at least he will get whats coming to him

Can't vouch for NRMA as I have not used them for a long long time. That said an acquaintance who used to own some major panel shops refused to do any work for NRMA because they would skimp on the repairs (he wanted to do it the right way).

In my experience Allianz have been very good. Competitive premiums and they use BMW approved panel shops. Unfortunately have had to make a few claims with previous BMWs but never a problem with the process and work.
