128i with BMWP intake and exhaust
I have a 2011 128i, N51, with the Performance intake and I recently installed the exhaust to complete the package. I can't say it added any power but the engine seems much more lively. Seems a bit easier to get going from a stop too. Everything feels more tight and smooth, which really surprised me, not to mention the better sound.
I wish I'd done this when I bought the car new. Amazing.

Thanks for the comments everyone.
As for the sound, it's throatier, more aggressive under throttle but not obnoxious at idle. It's bmw and not boy-racer, if you get what I'm on about.

I added the AA stage II tune and the car just came alive and the sound seemed to get just a bit more aggressive. I'm contemplating the new AA exhaust headers right now but we'll see.

Jealous. Wish BMW had done these for the 135i.

Can't believe I'm really thinking about spending ~$1k for nice tips and that sound! Congrats on the upgrades and I appreciate the response!

It's a lot Zap but worth it. Don't expect to find yourself with a car with 135i power and speed, think more of a subtle upgrade. The engine seems happier. I have a 6mt and starting from a dead stop seems a little less fiddly as well. All of the changes are subtle like I said, but as long as you know what you're getting, you'll be happy.

Get an AA tune, you'll notice a much larger power difference then as your n51 already has the 3 stage intake manifold. especially down low and mid range.

The AA is probably the last thing I'll do to the engine. Might make a nice post-winter detail present for myself.
Ime also intregued by the new BMW HUS (head up screen) retrofit for the 1er. A bit pricey but nice nonetheless. I'd like to see one though |

An AA tune sounds great but I know it can be pricey... Anyone know just how much it would cost and where it can be bought from? I am located in Dallas and also looking for a coder in the area that doesn't charge and arm and leg...
Thanks in advance |

Speaking from expirience ( I owned a 128i converted to 130i with tons of mods) the AA tune or Evolve tune will be the best money you can spend on your 128i.

The BMW performance intake looks nice. Does it actually make a noticeable difference in sound when you rev the engine or is it more subtle?

Looks great. Does the 128i have the charcoal filter between the throttle body and air filter like the e90? If so does the performance intake delete the charcoal filter?
On the e90 they are glued in and not replaceable.
