Question Halogen to LCI Xenon Conversion HELP (Yes yet another thread..)

I have pre-LCI E82/E88 with stock halogens.

I want to convert to LCI Bi-Xenons with the LED Eyebrow. (the non-BMW route of new footwell module etc.)

What do I need to do?

- I can source the LCI Bi-Xenon headlights.

- What else needs to be done to get functioning low beam, high beam, as well as LED Eyebrow?

I was under the impression after I have the headlights, install HID kit, solder some error cancelling capacitors (or resistors as many call them..) and that's it? Will the LED Eyebrow light up on it's own though?

I have contacted E.90Andy who says he can sell me a conversion kit, however I am wary of supporting banned vendors... It seems ever Xenon conversion member has been banned

Surely I am not the only guy who has done this/wants to do this?

I can't believe there is so much info on these conversions over at E90Post and not one proper thread on the subject here

Would appreciate any help.

Ok guys here is what I think I need to do if I get bi-xenon enclosures.

- Purchase D1S HID Kit to fit in stock bi-xenon enclosure (e.g. http://www.ddmtuning.com/Products/DDM-HID-Kit-D1SR-35W)
- Wire up HID kit to Lowbeams
- Install resistors for the high beams (or lack thereof lol since bi-xenons don't have high beams you need to trick the car using resistors)
- Tap resistor to ground
- Tap highbeam to bi-xenon shutter to get shutter to work

Did I miss anything?

Any more insight would be appreciated.

Hit up E90Sexion on the forum. He did a conversion just like this and ran into trouble when he started messing with the HID kit... Dunno if he went back to stock or not, but he did convert to OEM Xenon from halogen I believe.

Apparently if I use OEM bulbs and ballast I can code the FRM module for the Xenon retrofit?

Add $522 Xenon headlights to VO in NCS Expert? Is that the right code for 1 series or are all BMW's the same?

This might help.

There you go, functioning bi-xenons. You can also code the car to use the corona rings as the DRLs, if you want.

The dealer scan tools are powerful, but it's very unlikely they know how to do anything beyond the step-by-step stuff they're trained to do. With things like NCSEXPERT, you can manually make these changes to individual modules and such.
