Question How's the performance on the new e90

Hi all,
I love the styling on the new e90. How's the performance? Actual #'s, anyone?
I've heard mid-6's. That's fairly respectable for a automatic but I would have expected BMW to push the performance on this car a bit so that it would compete better with the G35's and other wannabes out there.
I drive a C32 and it's fast....really fast but I've always loved the 3-series cars - especially the 330 and M3.

So tell me does this new puppy run or not??

I'm not sure many people are out of thier break in periods yet...I'm certianly not game enough to gun it yet. But i can tell you the suspension is fantastic.

Is this the sports package suspension of the regular one?

Thanks.

I have the Sport package w/18' wheels etc. But i suspect the preformance has a lot to do with the five link setup in the rear and the light front - common to all e90's. I never drove the non sport version, but I heard it is still very good.

Have you read any of the posts? Any of the numerous reviews by various car mags and publications?

All indications are that the new 330i is as fast if not faster than any of its current competitors, G35 included.

325?

What about the new 325 (e90) will it be as fast as the old 330(2001-05)?
Torque numbers as low as that are scaring me away from purchasing one.

It might not be as fast as the old 330 but it will be pretty close. Consider that BMW quotes a 0-60 time of 6.1 for an E90 330i whereas testing by car mags reveals times as low as 5.6 so far on what was supposedly not a grippy surface.

BMW claims a 0-60 time of 6.7 for the E90 325i with manual transmission. So maybe you could see times as low as 6.2 which is very near or just about what the old 330 did.

Plus there are so many variables that go into times and performance figures like this that its hard to say anything with certainty about something with such a small difference and large margin of error.
