I'm not even close to running my tires down, only 3K on the car.

But the last 3 sets of tires purchased for my various cars, 2 were the BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KDW 2 (Ultra High Performance Summer). The third was Riken.

Riken has excellent grip, both dry and wet. But they are a bit noisy.

The g-Force tires I purchased were on cars with smaller size tires and it had more normal tread. The g-Force tires that come up on Tirerack.com for the 1 are a very aggressive style tread, which tends to make me think the same of that it will have great grip but be quite noisy.

If someone has tried the g-Force for the 1, please post your experience with it.

WELL EVERYBODY!!!!! LET ME TELL YOU!!!!!

I got the Yokohama S.drives put on last friday....and ....

I'm so friggin happy with how the car feels. The most important thing is the comfort of the car. Car handles bumps soooooooooooooo much better. Such a difference. No more bone jarring rattles when I hit some unavoidable bumps. They absorb so much better.

They are also quieter, and seem to have just a bit more grip.

SOOOO I recommend everybody make the change!!!!!!

Where did you get them from, Tire Rack? Also - do you have to disable the run flat tire sensors with non-run flat tires? Thanks.

The sensors are not just for the "run flat" tires. They sense a relative decrease in air pressure with-in the tire-no matter whether the tire is a run flat or conventional tire.

I got em from Tire Rack.

Like he said, sensors are just for pressure. Can use on any tire.

These are what I recently ordered. They did win in overall tests (from tirerack.com):

They are also the tires that Dinan uses on their 135i and wow they had an enormous amount of grip.

Those are supposed to be great too. The reason I went with the Yokohama S.drive was because they have a longer lasting tread, had a better traction rating, and from reading may great user reviews.

They have made such a difference on my car......IT'S SICK!!!!!

I've also been putting their grip to the test, they bite a lot better then the stock tires. I'm not getting the traction light nearly as much!!

Yea the Dunlops supposedly don't have good tread life at all. I was reading reviews and a lot of people said they went through the tires in 5000 miles or less. I don't drive my car too often (work from home) so I figured I could get something that (supposedly) performs better than others with the disadvantage of lower tread life.

Effect of service rating on handling

I am planning to replace my 17" RoFs (Eagle LS-2; 89H) on my 128 coupe with traditional tires. If I go to a higher load rating (e.g., 93), will that affect handling and feel?

If you are comparing apples to apples, a true UHP tire in this class, that statement couldn't be further from the truth. The Dunlop Star Specs wear better than any other tire we've used.

We have run on the following tires between the 08/09 race season.

Hankook RS2
Toyo R1R
Yokohama Advan Neova
Dunlop Star Specs

Our fastest lap times have been on the Dunlops as well. They are able to take the punishment that a 3000+ car making close to 400HP can dish out.

Goodyear F1 Asymmetrics. Grip is amazing. Jury is still out on overall handling. The car seeems to dart a little but I don't think it's a issue with the tires.

255/35/18 rear

Very happy w/ the quieter ride and better ride …. no more riding on solid wheels!!

Replaced the OEM RFTs with Pirelli P Zero All Season Plus 225/255 - great wet handling/braking, better than OEM dry grip and handling, and better NVH characteristics than OEM. Car will not be tracked/HPDE/autocrossed, otherwise, if it were, I would have picked up dry season Michelin Pilot Sports.

I found the best tires without a doubt, are the round ones, they come in black.
Lot's of different makes and sizes. OH, get new ones, the ones with holes in them
sometimes known as a puncture I believe aren't so good.

Get 4, 2 for the back and 2 for the front.
