Hot center console 135i

Hey guys. Just got my 135i less than a week ago, and today I noticed the center console was very hot (maybe 100 degrees on the surface of the plastics.) i thought it was because all the hard driving and downshifting (auto tranny) so i drove it easy for a half hour and its still just as hot. Is this a common thing?

Not sure.. I feel it's a combo of the engine bay and sun coming into the cabin. Not much you can really do

I do not experience this, almost sounds like a heat shield is missing in the transmission tunnel and your console is felling the heat.

On hot days I feel this, my LCD has a few pixle lines missing when it's over 100 in the car.

I feel the heat coming from the center tunnel/console padding

does your friend have an aftermarket exhaust?

My guess is the catalytic converters and resonators hold a lot of heat and causes us to feel it when it's hot.

Happens to me when I drive in full manual mode.
