the ssr dilema....

i have 2 silver and 2 grey ssr type c 17x8.5. i need to run like 2.5 deg of front camber and a 5mm spacer if i want to run a square 255 setup. or i use them as a drag set up as strait line pulls is mostly what i do with the car.

i was thinking about running a 245/45/17 nitto nt55r drag radials in the back and just keep the 225s up front so i don't have to camber it out.

then there is the color problem i was planing on painting them black. but now i am unsure if i should just color match the the one side to the other.

so i still have the stockers with the ps2's on them. so if i make these a street strip set up i will still have something to throw on for the twistys. tell me what you guys think!

Its impossible to see both sides at the same time, so maybe no one will notice. This will be even better if the viewer has bad memory. Seriously though, I think a 255 square set-up would be much more fun. Having a set-up that handles great would be far more important than one just good for straight line...for me. Also, you can rotate the tires if need be.

If you primarily drag race, then I guess that may answer your question. But I still think you would be better with an extreme summer performance (direzza, AD08, etc.) square set-up. Unless you really have significant power mods, I would think traction should be ok with 255 in the rear.

For the painting dilema, I'd say paint both sides the same color. It will probably be difficult to paint match the grey ones, so you would be better off just selecting a new color and doing both sides. I used a duplicolor wheel paint in bronze to paint my SSR type-f wheels, and so far it has been holding up pretty well. Either way, yours look great!

your wheels look nice with the paint. I think painting mine black will look nice on the red. i had 255 direzzas on my m3 and they stuck good but now i have a lot more power than b4. the 255 re050s spin pretty good threw 2nd now and i was planing on adding meth soon. lol

Nice wheels. The grey ones look good but the silver ones look even better.

I'd get them all painted the same silver so they match. Its not easy to find 17s with the right offset for the 1 series.

I think it's kinda cool to have two different colors. But I'm weird like that.
