135i delivery delayed
I was supposed to pick up my 135i (being shipped back from Munich after ED this October) on Tuesday, but it didn't make it due to the bad weather/road conditions along I-5 N from California. Which is bittersweet: I've been waiting *forever* but there's so much snow on the ground in Portland, OR I wouldn't have been able to get it from the dealer to my house regardless.
Side note: I'm happy to be driving an X-3 in this weather: slippery, rutted roads, random off-road bumps, iced manhole/pothole covers, snowbanks, slush, etc. The 135i, or any other sedan, I imagine is taking quite a beating... Maybe Christmas will arrive next week! |

They may have to take the long way around. We are still seeing winter storm advisories down here with snow expected on the I5 through the grapevine. I wouldn't be surprised if it gets shut down today. It should be better by the weekend though, if the weather clears up a bit.
Just received mine too from a late Oct ED. And then it promptly started raining and hasn't stopped. Oh, and I still have the Euro maps on my Nav. Anyone need driving directions to Munich? |

I was just thinking about this earlier this morning! I had to swerve to avoid a giant tree blocking the roadway and ran over a bunch of debris. Then when I parked I found a bunch of leaves stuck in little crevices around the 1. Not to mention all the road grime from the rain has made it filthy! And that's with the very mild San Francisco Bay Area winter weather!

I've been driving by an E39 M5 in the west hills of Portland that was left on the roadside because the owner obviously couldn't make it through the snow & ice. The poor car is up to the windows in a grime and rock filled snow/ice mixture (courtesy of plows) and will probably never look the same again. It really is comical how unprepared and stupid people are. Why not tow it? Why not get chains?
