Odd questions on the 135i between 2008-2010
-Those of you with the 2009-2010 135i's that have nav. Can you turn off the screen on the dash? I understand the 2008's you can just close the screen.
-Can the entire cabin lights be turned off? My old Lexus IS allowed this and I enjoyed it at night as I could see better. -When you turn your car off does the steering wheel auto retract out of the way and the seat go back far to allow you to exit out of the car comfortably? My old Lexus also did this. -When you turn your car on does the seat and steering wheel go back the way it was? -Do all 135i's have the little LED light on the exterior door handles that turn on when you unlock the car at night? -Do all 135i's in this year range, allow you to also auto fold the side mirrors? -When you reverse, do the side mirrors move down to show you the curbs? -When you turn on the car, do the headlights "dance"? By that I mean do they self level and move left and right a little bit before centering up? My x-gf's 7 series did this and I loved the "drama" of it. Thanks in advance. The closest 135i to me is 245 miles away. So I can't test drive one sadly. |

1. No, CIC screens cannot be shut off, the pre-09 nav (CCC), could, however
2. No, all buttons and controls remain backlit unless you were to shut off the headlamps.. 3. No, our steering columns are not power adjustable 4. Not entirely sure, but I think they will won't automatically move without user input for safety. So, no 5. No, but the 3-series does, however 6. If you have premium package with the power folders, it can be easily coded to do that 7. Yes, but only with premium package (or seat memory/power seats) 8. I think its something like that.. movement is barely noticeable.

Options button on the iDrive controller -> switch off display or something
No need for coding. I use it a lot too. 4. If you have electric seats (which were standard on US 135i's I think) there's an option in iDrive CIC to turn that feature on if I recall. I've once opened the car and seats went into its pre-set position. 5. My EU-spec car has the light package which includes door handle LEDs. Maybe US-spec cars didn't have them, don't know.

I use three for various fm/xm stations, one is set to toggle screen off and on, and one is set to start navigation home. |
