I have an M steering wheel that came off my 2009 135i, it is in perfect condition for sale for $150. I took it off the car when it was new, and it has sat in the box since. I can ship it out for free.

do you have to take these to the dealer to swap out the airbag, or is this a diy?

Its a pretty easy DIY, just need a small flat head screw driver to remove the airbag. There's a hole in the back of the wheel through which you can push on the spring and remove the airbag. Should be able to find a DIY some where I would think.
