03 330ci to 06 325i

I will be turning in my leased 03 330ci and i'm considering getting the 06 325i.
The 03 330 i have is a MT and i'm considering the 325i with MT as well. I've driven the 325i loaner cars with AT and it didnt feel as quick as my 330 MT. The local dealer doesn't have any 325's in MT so i dont have a way to test drive one. Would i be dissapointed with the 325i or does it come pretty close to the 03 330? Thanks

it should be pretty close, as the 06 325 only has 10 less horses than your 03 330. Have you considered the 06 330?

I looked up the specs on Edmunds.com, officially the 06 325 is the same weight as the 03 330,
06 325: 215hp @6250rpm, 185tq @2750rpm
03 330: 225hp @5900rpm, 214tq @3500rpm

so you would be missing quite a bit of tq I guess

IF you're going to lease again, get the 330i...better money factor, so you end paying just a tiny bit more for a LOT more car.

You may want to wait until September to get a 328i Coupe, which will have slightly better the performance than your 330Ci, for less money.

I would like to lease again but my daily mileage has increased so that's why i was looking at buying the 325i. Does BMWFS still allow you to add extra mileage to your contract later on?

So i guess it wont be as quick as the 03 330? The salesman told me that the E90 325 is just as quick as my 330.

Yes, and extend the contract during the lease end period by a few weeks or months if you need it. I find that my E90 325i 6mt as fast as an E46 330i AT. (this is from memory e46 330i non-sp and at vs my e90 zsp 6mt)
The drive train refinment, valvatronic, improved vehicle areodynamics, stiffer chassis and lowered unsprung weight are what give the E90's the edge over the E46's

your salesman would tell you that the sun rise out of his ass every morning if that gets you to buy the car
seriously though, your 03 330's 0-60 time is around low to mid 6 seconds, while the 06 325's 0-60 time is around low to mid 7's (disclaimer: these are paper figures, real life numbers would be different due to blah blah blah), so no, 06 325 would not be as quick as your 03 330

I have a 6spd ZHP(235 HP), and test drove the E90 325 w/step. It's was a good luxury sedan, but not a sports sedan. I HATE A/T's, and the damn thing kept looking for the right gear under moderate/hard acceleration.

The E90 is heavier, less HP, Less Tq than your 330.

I've extended my lease for another 4 months hoping to get into a E92 328 (I fear they're going to release it with the current E90 325 engine). IMO if the E92 comes out with a 328 (~235 hp engine), then you'll have something similiar to your 330Ci.

BMWFS will allow you to extend your lease for 4 mo's and then an add'l 2 mo's for a total of 6 mos. The monthly mileage limitations and payment remain the same. Your residual does drop however.

When I was in the market between the 323i/325i/330i they all had the same interest rate but the residual was 2-3% higher on the 325i.

Leases in the US seem crazy cheap though...

Oh, and if you're used to MT you will probably regret getting an auto.

I am definately getting a MT...I cannot stand AT...

I would love to get the 335i but from what it seems, It's going to be more expensive and the initial lease rates are going to be high as well.

If i lease the 330i with 15K miles and a year later i realize i need additional miles, can i increase my mileage allocation to 18K?
