No factory tour with PCD!
I just got word from the performance center that there will be no factory tour for my PCD on October 25th. I called them to ask why and they said it was because they were "prototyping." I am upset because this was one of the things I was really looking forward to. The worst part is, they didn't tell me about it until less than a week away. If I knew this a while ago, when I first ordered, I would have considered them just delivering the car to my dealer, then I would have received it sooner. Sorry about the rant, it was just very annoying.
FYI, they said tours would start up again next year.

I just did a performance center delivery on October 14th. They accidently had a new Z4 coupe out which our group saw. From our guide's reaction it appeared that someone was going to get into big trouble. Regardless, I found that factory tour a little boring actually. My experience was fantastic I didn't get to even go on the track, just the skidpad, because of some conflict. I trade the factory tour for the track anyday. You'll have a great time, no doubt.
BTW, change your sig. It's repulsive.

That is very annoying...
I would ask them what they are going to do to compensate? They don't really owe you anything seeing as PCD is free and all, but maybe they will send you a pack of promotional 3 stuff or a big poster or something? Nothing like having a GIANT 3 Series poster in your garage... |

I was at the performance center taking delivery the same time as bimmer4me, and it was funny to see the execs at the factory freaking out. I found the factory tour fascinating.
I agree that making to the track would have been nice, but the time we spent on the skid pad was crazy fun. I felt like such a kid, spinning out of control on that pad!! I would have them make it up to you somehow, but you'll still have a great time. |

Yup, Z4 Coupe and the upcoming M Roadster. No tours until some time in the first quarter of 2006. FYI, the Z4 is also getting a facelift for '06 MY (model year) SOP (start of production) is Jan. 2006.
BTW, the 2.5 is being discontinued for the Z4. Last edited by SCA; 10-21-2005 at 11:36 AM.. |

I got the call about the cancelled factory tour as well. Personally, I don’t care that much. All I really want is the track / skidpad time (oh yeah, and also to pick up my new car). I’m much more worried about the potential for hurricane Wilma to cut any track time or to make my drive home horrible.
