Some people think that removing the back seat headrests opens up a world of visibility. Personally they don't bother me so mine are not going anywhere

Headrests are vital to driver safety in certain types of collisions. Sure wouldn't remove them!

i wouldnt remove the front headrest...rears are fine if no one sits there.

So the rear ones just popped off? i tried a few times long time ago when fitting my kiddo's seat there but it wouldnt budge. Will try again today.

You are n the right track if you took the rear headrests off so you...can stamp/embroider the ///M logo to match the fronts ;-o)

Yes, they do come off with a wee bit of wiggle. You do have to release the seat locks first (via the trunk), and tilt the backseats forward to be able to pull the headrests off.

Yeah I removed mine too as I rarely have people sitting in the back. Good weight savings!

I removed mine. Did the same on my E46. If you have passengers back there often, I wouldn't recommend it for safety reasons.

So what is the point removing them?
1 Parting out your car cuz it was to expensive.
2 Weight saving for drag RACING, touring car championship.
3 You just hate when some of your car parts wearing out, decided to save some.
4 Or you don't have PDC so you need to be sure that there is nothing behind your car.

None of the above. I have PDC but I still like having better rearward visibility.

Or it improves rearview visibility.

Not sure this really counts as a mod.... I have too, considered removing the rear head rests since no one ever rides in the back seat.

Enjoy breaking your neck/getting terrible whiplash if you're ever rear-ended.

Wow, that's pretty mean-spirited!

And, btw, just in case you missed it, the OP removed the rear seat head rests.

Since when was price a consideration? The thread is not titled "cheapest" mod or "best bang for the buck" mod. Its Best & Easiest. Plug and play is pretty fucking easy 15% WTQ gain with 0 other supporting mods is best in my book.
