So I went and found a 1M to drive. A mint one with only 18k on the clock.

I was surprised at how slow it felt compared to my car. Handling was obviously better, firmer ride and flatter through corners, and it definitely had more traction. It definitely looks better too.

But now i'm less convinced that the extra $50k to swap over to the car is worth it...

The 1M is a more aggressive looking car, but personally I wouldn't place that much value on the extra street cred.

If you like to mod your 135i, you can make it perform and handle exceptionally well. I don't think that performance alone is a realistic reason to change over.

This is precisely where I am now. I want a 1M but the $40-50K change over isn't justified when I consider the mods done to my 135i. KW V2's go in next week so it'll be an even better car and harder still to make sense of upgrading purely based on looks.

Sure, the 1M can't easily be matched by modding a 135i but the financial jump to get to one makes it hard when a 135i can be worked on to make it pretty darn close for far less cost.

Maybe so, and not to start a 1M v 135 debate, as I have had both cars, and both are awesome in their own right, But you are all missing the point, and not to sound pretentious, regardless of how modded your 135 is, it's still not a ///M car and will never be..

Hmm yeah the 135i is a damn good BFYB car when modified, heck with $50k you could get a decent R34 GTR as a weekender (I doubt they will depreciate unlike a 1M) and keep the 135i for a daily!
