There is probably a good chance that the blue car pictured above already has the et50's as well..

I am on the fence between the 710's and CS7's and waiting for some more pictures before I make my final decision

It will be very hard to fit a 265 on a 9.5 wheel without fender work.
I am running the 18x9 cs7 et 48 with a 265 evo12 on there dropped on coilovers. My fenders were previously rolled for my drag set up and its a CLOSE fit. If i slam the car in the rear as low as it will go, it rubs. However at my height setting, I have yet to hear it rub. Also the 265 on a 9 inch wheel sits about as flush to to the wheel as possible.

A 245 on a 9.5 looks retarded, imo a 9.5 would need a 275 to look flush, 265 to look ok, anything lower, you looks like a vw with tucked 19x10s running a 235 tire....nice for shows, retarded for daily driving.

I agree the fitment on the blue car looks ugly in my opinion. I was not happy with the look of the 710 spokes curving out so much and not as good of a fitment (widths and offset). So I went with the CS7s.

+1, I dig a lot of the VMR wheels, but something about the 710 spoke curve profile has always thrown me off a bit. I also feel it's much too 'curved' while a flatter curve like you'd see on a more traditional motorsport mesh looks cleaner.

Those 245 tires certainly might be functional on that rim, but there is no getting around the fact that they look suuuuper stretched. Not a good look at all, IMO.

At the end of the day, CS7s are made using a low pressure casting process whereas the 710s use gravity casting and that is the main reason I'll be going with CS7s. For the price, the CS7s provide great value given the increased strength you get from the manufacturing process.

Just installed:
18" Staggered V710's in Hypersilver
Hankook Ventus V12 evo K110
225/40/18 Front
255/35/18 Rear
TPMS

I know,..the Pics suck. Im a crappy photographer, and my battery died in my camera.
Will get more up in the Photos section soon.
Just took it up the street for a quick spin. Tires are quiet! Dont seem to be any clearance issues, rears look like they have plenty, and cranked the fronts stop to stop with no rub. Will post back more comments later when Ive had some seat time in the car.

Those look pretty nice there on your black 1er. The 255 tires look better. Looks like you've got some protection on the lip there, but definitely still stretched. The 9.5" rim really makes things difficult here. IMO, 265 is the minimum for a 9.5" rim and 275 or 285 is optimal depending on tire brand.

Honestly, I think its more the design of the wheel rather than the width that makes it look stretched. More of an optical illusion due to the concavity of the wheel.
The spokes of the wheel actually angle out a bit, and it gives it that appearance.
Seeing that 255 is about the max this set-up will fit, Im VERY happy w/ them.

Totally agree, for what we have to work with on the 1er your setup looks great.

This photo is a 275 on a 9.5" rim from my old E92. I'm hoping to achieve a similar look with the 255 on a 9" rim. The lip is protected and the tire lays relatively straight instead of at an angle. To me, this is proper fitment, but you have to give and take a bit sometimes on cars that don't have much room like the 1er.

That's precisely why a lot of people have gone for VMR wheels, at around 1/3 the cost of Advan, despite the somewhat less than ideal, thouh still acceptable fitment.

i have to agree and dis-agree on the Advan's...having them on my last ride in Gunmetal i think they look good on a 135i but better on EvoX ,STI's or other JDM platforms...on the 135i yes the fit is great...but as i experienced the cost $2000-$2500 is double the CSL's or V710....i like the look of both the CSL and V710 but the more i study the look the more this car needs rims and tires that fit 'PROPERLY" for best ride and handling..
8" front 9" rear are a good fit IMO...

I totally agree with you on the Advans. I considered them and many other wheels and the proper fitment is very much important. I think the CS7s look better than the Advans also. Plus being over twice the price puts them close to CCW custom three piece wheels that can be custom fit. It came down to CCW three piece or AluFelgen CS7s. I have had CCWs on another car and loved them, but some thing about the CS7 just looks so connected on the 135i. Plus they are a bargain at less than $1k shipped to your door. They have that OEM ///M look but have a uniqueness to them.

The spokes on the 710s have a chunky and edgy look to them. The CS7s have a more of a smooth fluid stylish look to them.

Sorry to those that have em, but I feel the CS7's to be very boring and a lil too "oem" looking to really make sense spending the extra money and time buying them over the oem wheels you already have on the car. Hence why Im so into the Advans or possibly the Breytons, they look very unique but at the same time they fit the car perfectly, dont have any poking issues, etc.

Sure the money is an issue with the Advans which is why I probably wont be going with them in the end, unless I suddenly come into some money, but I still like them a whole hell of a lot more then the CS7's and those like them.

Ah I see, you can't put your money where your mouth is.

You are completely missing the point on the stock wheels/tires versus aftermarket. BMW missed the mark on the size wheels and tires for the 135i. So what the market demanded was some more rubber on the road. Also damn BMW used odd offsets which made available wheels very scarce and thus custom wheel applications to get them to fit correctly on the 1er. Hence I applaud AluFelgen for stepping up to the plate and making wheels with the correct wheel widths/offsets to allow more tire on the road. The CS7 is the perfect wheel size to fit 225/40-18 and 255/35-18 tires. The OEM stock wheels don't quite allow this perfect fitment and is a compromize when trying to fit these size tires on the 7.5/8.5" stock rim widths. So that's why we have to get other wheels and the stock wheels don't quite cut it. Also, I and others wanted that OEM look, but with that CSL look that is unique.

Well the Breytons are far from exact fit and I would not even consider them. The structural integrity is not as good as the CS7s. I like the look of the gunmetal but hate that red ring.

Any ways, beauty is always in the eye of the beholder.

Um, is there actual proof that the Breyton's structural integrity is less then the CS7's or are you just talking out of ur ass?

Yes its unfortunate that the matte grey and black ones have that red stripe but they do offer the silver ones without it and its not too hard to find somewhere to have em powdercoated darker, same size n all. Fitment would be fine with those wheels as well.

I think if anyone missed a point it was you, I said simply that I felt the CS7's were boring a waste of time and money for someone looking for an aftermarket wheel with correct fitment. I wouldnt want to waste my money on wheels that look like the oem's on every other bimmer out there.

Also, keep in mind, you say theres hardly any aftermarket wheels that are produced with our correct fitment, well the 1 series has only been in production for barely 3 years and im sure soon enough there will continue to be more and more productions that match our sizing.

Our cars are just horrible to fit. Really the only rears that routinely allow proper rubber to wheel width are the Apex wheels. But no matter what you get if you stuff nice rubber in the rear then you'll look imbalanced unless you camber and roll the front.

Or you can just not lower your car so you can run wider tires but to me that makes it look even worse.

I was very happy when I changed tire brands and fixed my rear scrubbing issue. But at the same time I went up to 235 fronts. I rarely rub but when I do it really slams into something. I might camber plate my fronts but I want to see how these tires wear first so for now I'll just watch out for the wrong type bumps in the road.

Btw, I vote for the 710's. They are my favorite affordable wheels for our cars.

I doubt we'll have too many more options in the upcoming years. Vendors have said on many occasions that there isn't enough demand for it, that's why it's taking forever to make parts for our cars and a lot of times group buys fall through altogether.

Whether we like the CSL or not, Alufelgen is the only manufacturer that has stepped up and made a wheel with perfect fitment. For many of us, correct fitment is more important than fitting a wheel with aggressive offsets and having to roll and cut fenders and still scrape.
