2016: "Congratulations with your new M2, dude" - "Nope, that's still the good old 1M"
Who's gonna be the first ?

The only way I'd get an M2 is if I can figure out how to keep the 1M!!
...really want to do a ED some day and an M2 would be a great car for it.

As quite some people don't know the 1M, I guess that history will repeat itself as soon as the M2 is around.

...... I did have a similar situation happen to me. When I was buying my car and everything was all done I was getting ready to leave and a guy in a 3er pulled up right in front of me, blocking me in. He got half way out of his car and exclaimed "What is that?!?! I've never seen one of those before!" Since I was all giddy, about to drive off with 29 miles on the odometer, I was happy to explain it to him. I may have been gloating...just a little.

So we might reply with the question: "What does the logo on the back spell ?".

1M = E30
M2 = E36 was the E36 M3 faster than the E30 M3? yes. was the E36 M3 more aerodynamic than the E30 M3? yes was the E36 M3 more technologically advanced than the E30 M3? yes was the E36 M3 available with more options and varieties than the E30 M3? yes what car would you rather have? the E36 M3 or the E30 M3? Uhh...easiest choice ever..E30 M3. For me the 1M and M2 will most likely follow this same series of questions and answers. the 1M will forever be legendary and offer an enjoyment few other cars can match...the M2 included, IMO. |

- has the F87 M2 similar size or more pronounced fender flares than the meaty ones of the E82 1M ? No.
- was the F87 M2 basically designed and engineered in merely two weeks and subsequently put together as initial concept by staff when the head of ///M was away on a two-week trip (and to whom was shown the secretly pieced together project upon his return) and developed in less than 18 months ? No. |

Before the F82 was even revealed someone complemented me on my M4.
A lot of the time people have no idea what they're looking at but take a stab at it anyway... like "Nice series M."
