BMW OBD computer - how accurate?
Hi guys,
Done 85,000kms on the 130i and loving every moment. Last week I got an alert on the dash saying the rear brake pads need to be changed. I then went into the Idrive and it confirmed I needed to change the pads. Anyhow yesterday and today the warning is gone and the Idrive says the pads are good for another 12,000kms.... Wtf???? |

probably condition based servicing.
I just hit 70km's and its just started bitching about the rear brakes, i had a quick look through the rims and felt them and they are fine. When the front warning went off there was still about 1/3 -> 1/2 of the pad left!

The BEST control is to do a visual inspection of how much brake pads material you have left/remaining. Sounds like your pad wear sensors might be loose. Its normal to replace the rear brake pads at the same time as your fronts are worn out. Thats bc of our E-diff always working over time to keep wheel spin in check.
