CF mods. Keeping them uniform throughout my AW 135.

Hey guys, I guess this is sort of an extension of another post I had about CF parts. I just got my car 1 month ago and want to, little by little, start buying some mods for it... as far as the exterior goes, I'm thinking of CF. I plan on buying the following in CF:

Diffuser
Spoiler
Front Grilles
Mirror Caps

Now I love the iCarbon diffuser, and I'm a bigger fan of glossy finish (especially since it does a matter job matching the shadowline trim). However, the first thing I'll be purchasing are the front grilles. I just want to make sure I don't end up purchasing from different manufacturers and end up with a mess of CF all over the car with different finishes...

With all of that in mind, I was looking forward to some suggestions from you guys who've seen these parts in person or have them installed.

Thanks!

You are basically already answering your own question. You like the iCarbon diffuser and are concerned about matching CF finishes. To me that means you just buy all the parts you mentioned from iCarbon. My kidneys and tag holder perfectly match the CF from iCarbon on my diffuser and lip so I doubt you'll have many matching issues even if you go with different manufacturers.

About the only decision you have to me is whether you want mirror caps or the full replacement pieces that iCarbon either offers or is planning.

well yes but my whole dilemma stems from the fact that I read here in the forum that the iCarbon CF front grilles don't come with the vertical slats. and I DEFINITELY don't want to paint mine, which are in chrome. I'd like to keep my stock front grilles untouched in case I decide to give up on the whole CF idea or want to sell them...

so that's why I'm wondering which CF front grille is closest to the iCarbon stuff...

edit: for now I'm thinking mirror caps

Hmm, that's surprising if the iCarbon kidneys don't come with verticals. It should be easy to buy some, mine for example. I did the opposite, changed out my CF matte verticals for my stock chrome ones.

From what I remember on almost all my CF parts, the "default" look on the smaller things (license plate frames, mirror covers, etc) is that they have a glossy finish, with a diagonal "pattern" going from bottom left to top right. That seems to be the standard. I think anything you order will have the glossy finish by default unless it's been specified as matte. Don't take that as 100% true, but I'm pretty sure about it. Either way, I wouldn't be all that concerned, everything seems to have a glossy finish

I emailed iCarbon to double check if their grille comes with the vertical slats. anyway, they give you an option of 2x2 standard weave or 1x1 twill weave... anyone know what that means?

If you want the OEM Performance look get 2x2 Regular Finish.
