JB4 N55 - ISO or Integrated?
Hi all,
Just on my flight back to the motherland. I have a brand new JB4 waiting for me back home for my E82. Car is a Dec 2012 build with a PPK2 at present. AR catted downpipes, aFE Stage 2 intake, ER charge pipe and ETS 5" FMIC. I know there is a method to run the JB4 in ISO mode as opposed to integrated. Has anyone locally done this and can comment? I have read various posts online about it, but none from down under (not that it should matter). From what I can tell, ISO mode controls boost better and has improved throttle response etc, but the firmware is still in Beta. P

Most boards are now exclusively ISO?
ISO works better in 99% of cases, only one case on an N54 when the car kept boost spiking so switched to non-ISO board to iron it out. |

They are, but to enable you need to cut the diode and update the firmware to ISO version correct? Without the snip I believe its integrated? Or am I misunderstanding here?

Yes you need to snip the diode and load the N55 ISO. I haven't had any issues with ISO so far and it's definitely improved power delivery and is smoother. I also run flex fuel wires at 40% E85.

Ended up installing it in ISO format. Wasn't very hard at all to do.
Currently running Map 2 ISO, buttery smooth no hiccups. @froop tells me Map 5 + E85 is a whole 'nother ballgame.
