For those of you that are willing to pay regardless, I say good for you. You have something that very few other people have. For those that don't know what to do now, what were you thinking? I for one would never go through that entire process unless I knew all the details of the deal and had already secured the financing. Let the flaming begin.

+1. That is what I am saying. Everyone who already turned a first dealer allocation into their custom order in front of someone else should have known no matter what they could afford the car and it was their passion to own one....or they should have never taken the allocation from someone else.
You know, I tried to make my dealer give me numbers on the car when I placed my deposit and also my order. They "didn't really know" so I said I was unsure about the car because I would be taking someone else's spot. You know what they told me? Go ahead and keep it, if you don't want the car someone else will. I can't imagine that anyone around here who asked their dealer this same question received an answer "that's very nice of you, thanks" and passed the spot on.

Until I can drive one, I'm not making my decision. It better be more intense than the 3, otherwise I won't see much of a point in it.

So apparently I'm somehow inadequate because I ordered a car and don't want to pay a lot more for it then I expected? Take me out of the game coach - I've flubbed the BMW custom order and put my lowly self between a 1er and its far-more-deserving future owner! I'm so ashamed. :-)

fuhgetaboutit - good for you I say. You're not a retard and you are fiscally responsible. For me, its just a case of monthly payment rather than the amount of money I ultimately have to pay. This is, of course a carefree, stupid move but hey - Im young. However, I can see the possibility of moving to a 3 if the figures really really are that bad. I cant buy something that does not even make just a little sense fiscally.

I personally don't care if you don't get the car or not, nor do I care that you got in front of someone that could have got the car if you choose not to get it. My point to all here is I think it is a bad idea to get into any situation financially where you don't know all the details in advance. Even if it is refundable. I personally have the cash to buy it right now and I had the money to buy it a few months ago but will not do anything until my ass is in the seat behind the wheel testing it out. Who really cares if you are the first on the block to get the car.
