Some hastily thrown together GoPro footage from the race track this weekend
I threw together some footage of my friend and I's trip to the local drag strip yesterday. We had a blast. I finally got into the 12s on bald Continental ExtremeContact DW's @ 29psi. Mods are in my sig. I definitely could have done better but the balance between wheel hop, too much boost in first and second gear, and traction just didn't quite work out. Conditions were OK but cold at around 58 degrees and mostly cloudy.

Thanks. It was tons of fun. It's nice to see BMW's in the 100mph club on their Web site.

Nice video(s). I think you need to slip the clutch more on your launch. Also you seem to be short shifting a ~5K rpms ? Why ?

The runs weren't in chronological order. Now that you mention the short shifting, I notice that I started doing that later in the day. Maybe a subconscious thing making me shift earlier to save the engine. lol. Thanks for pointing that out.

EDIT: Now that I look at it again...it wasn't anything special. Stock turbo N54 135i w/ slicks territory. That run was 11.59 @ 115.36. I did 12.92 on that run. My buddy with an N54 was trapping at 116.

Sorry it took me so long to get back to you. Moving in to a new house! This is the mount. It works pretty well but occasionally it does come loose. http://www.mountek.com/shop/categori...-mini-tablets/

Definitely true. I was leaving late for one because I was focused more on getting the lowest 1/4mi time that I could. Also the BMW firmware I have has the throttle response so jacked up that it makes it impossible to leave at the correct RPM on time. My RTs I think were round .2 - .4 but I wasn't really looking.

These cars are really killer in roll on races. That's where they shine. The rear end and tire sizes aren't set up for standing start races. The fact that they are in the 12s is really something. From a roll the only cars that have really pulled away from me so far were a 2009 Viper...and my friend's 2009 135i.
