Munich to Bremerhaven question

Called the 800# this morning and got this status "Vehicle is being transported to the port of exit." How long does it take to get to Bremerhaven? Will i get an update from the 800# that it has arrived at the port or will i have to call my dealer for that info?

Also can anyone tell my what state it will come to when it gets to the U.S., will it be New York, South Carolina.....?

When do i start to check the shipping company websites to see if my car is on one of their ships? Thanks for all the help throughout this whole thing!

Iirc my car took about 1-2 days from the Regensburg plant (east bavaria) to Bremerhaven...My car was supposedly ready on 02/09 and by 02/10 it was at the Port of exit...(and was subsequently loaded onto a ship on 02/13).

I think PA goes through either NY/NJ or Baltimore...might depend on the ship/shipping line...

This is a little grey area in your tracking...as you know OC and 1-800# lady lags...if you're an enthusiastic tracker, I'd suggest bugging your CA or live person at the 1-800 #

In estimating what ship your car might get on, pull up the outgoing schedule on the Bremerhaven port site...

My car is coming from the Munich plant, which seems to be about 40 more miles from Bremerhaven than Regensburg. So the 1 to 2 days should still apply i would think.

Took my car 1 day from Munich to the port - then got on a ship a couple of days later. You can, if you have order number, go onto Owners circle and get vin # - then you can search shipping company site daily for what ship your vehicle is on. There is a whole thread on tracking your vehicle - read it.
Then you will be come nuts like the rest of us in tracking everything you can - my ship got to NY this am.

Wellcome to nutty world.

Today the 800# said "vehicle production complete and is waiting to be released to the carrier" Does this mean it is sitting at the port in Bremerhaven waiting to get on a boat? Will the 800# "live" person give me what boat it is on or do i have to get that from my CA?

No that "carrier" takes it to the port from the factory.

Why don't you ask them it's a free call , I had my VIN and did it myself on the w2global site. Just kept plugging it in every day until it showed up.

Called and talked to the lady on the 800# that means it is sitting at the port waiting to board a ship. She had no info on what ship or when it would boat.

Your 800# recorded message will change to "At Port Awaiting a Shipping Vessel"

The live operator has more recent information than the recorded message you listened to. The message you listed to was referring to a "carrier" that transports the vehicles to the port.
