There are a few 135is's around. Pacific BMW has a used 6MT with 3k miles on it they've had for like 6 months and carmax I saw had 2 when I looked earlier today.

Why an S4 over an S5? Same interior. However, I can tell you from experience, I had a 2008 135, then a 2011 S5, and now am back in a 135is and am so much happier.

Sorry to hear about the wreck.

That 4.2 liter V8 in the S4 does sound really good. I personally just never really got into Audi styling, reminds me of the parent company VW. Plus all of the complaints on electronic gremlins steered me away.

+1 for used Porsche Cayman

Depends what year S4. They haven't used the V8 in it since 2007. Even the S5 finally dropped the 4.2 liter V8 after 2012. I had a million electronic gremlins in mine which drove me insane.

I'd say go drive one, but think you'll come back wanting another 135 and it'll feel like a boat, too.

Interesting because when I got rid of my 128i I seriously thought about getting into an S5 but I just didn't think it was "sporty" enough and was a bit bigger than what I was looking for. I ended up getting into a 135i and haven't looked back.

I heard the S5 had some issues and didn't want to deal with having to take it in every other week.

Sorry to hear about your car and glad to hear you're ok! If your car is totaled than you can decide what to get but i will say that my brothers B8 S4 is almost undefeated to all N54 335 and 135 he has raced only two have managed to get a win on his car, i still haven't gotten a run on his car yet. :/

Yes I LOVE 135 and I already know that Im going to miss it if I go take another route. Iam going to check pacific BMW after posting this. thanks for the help!

I really love the styling of S4 and always had a thing for audi. Going for S4 because I want a 4 door just for the space and since s4 looks more like a sleeper compare to s5. But 135 is a real sleeper for sure....
oh and can you please tell me why you like 135 over s5?

I feel your pain man. My 135 was essentially totalled, went the Audi route after that, and always longed to be back in my 135. I haven't driven that supercharged v6 in the S4 though and the interior is definitely a step up, the bang & olufsen sound system is awesome, but the 135 is a lot more raw and I think you'll feel more connected to it.

After the newness of the new S5 wore off for me, I realized the drive was a little numb and I never quite felt as connected to it as I did the 135. I liked the smaller, nimbler, crazy brute feel of the 135 as it felt more emotional and visceral. Drive them both, see what you think, though I know the reality is all you'd really want is to be back in YOUR car.

But it looks pretty awesome hehe.

If it weren't for the Carbon buildup issues it'd be pretty good....4.2L V8 revving to 8000 rpm boring? I suppose it is pretty heavy though.

Go test drive one, they really aren't exciting to actually be behind the wheel of. The numbers on the page rarely relay the fun behind the wheel.

What are your top two desires from a car?

Yeah true....i just mentioned RS4 because it's a bit rare in the USA. (I test drove 2 before picking up the 135i.....the RS4 is probably a tad faster but the 135i FEELS a lot faster...probably because of the torque though in the 135i and the heavier weight of the RS4)

First would be performance, comfortness, and the looks of exterior/interior.

That's 4 things.

When you say performance, do you mean the lap time it can put down or how exhilarating it feels behind the wheel when hooning it? Do you go to redline with every drive, or do you mostly hang out sub 4k RPMs and like the ability to occasionally put your foot down to pass someone? Do you enjoy drifting on public roads, or do you want to have it grip at speed through turns?

I rarely track my car so I guess how exciting the drive is what I meant by performance. I stay below 4k rpm most of the time and accelerate to pass someone. I enjoy drifting but not on public roads LOL but then again I rarely get to do that.

I like the S4 also -- but you're right, mileage terrible.

I'd look for a 2011-2012 135i manual.....28 MPG on the highway. One of the countless reasons I'd never consider that silly DCT is the 25MPG highway.....call me a tree hugger......go ahead. Me....tree hugger!!!

You can find great deals on used 135s now that the 235 is out.
Great cars....great deals.....

1. another 135i(6MT, if i can find one again...)
2. M235i (at least its something similar....)
3. 335i
4. just get something under 20k until M2 or wait for something just as good as 135.

I want to stay driving manual but I do live in LA and get annoying sometimes. Just can't decide if I want auto or not.. Also thinking about S4 but the gas is baaaad. What would you guys suggest? I do care about my gas so no trucks or anything like that.. LOL
