Friends shouldn't let (or encourage) friends to resort to mother-in-law or evil stepmother jokes when posting on 1ADDICTS.

I love how quickly this thread degenerates hahahaha.
Re: Greg, awesome photos. As soon as my garage is decluttered I plan on doing a wax job on the 1 as well! Re: Worra, I don't know how exactly that housing would come off, but if it needs the mirror assembly to come off the door, make sure it is sealed back up if it was originally sealed, as they sometime can end up leaking water into the door if not reassembled properly. This may not be an issue on the 1 series but I had that problem with a older boxster and after they replaced my mirror motor it started leaking through the door into the car. Just something to keep in mind. And now onto other non degenerative things like my wife's new X3. Photos show the 135is so I don't wanna hear about this being off topic |

Thanks!! The X3 is fantastic, we went with the 28 as we preferred pushing our budget to get the options we wanted rather than a bone stock X3 with a big motor. Besides, the 1 is there for spirited driving whenever we feel like it I must say the turbo'ed 4 cylinder is pretty good! It's not a 35, but it goes.
Options we got are Xline, Oyster leather with brushed Al, standalone Nav, dealer installed Sirius, Driver assist package, Xenon light package and Harman Kardon. The Xline package makes a huge difference in handling with the 19" rims, the stock 18's make the car pogo side to side, the 19's give it a firmer more planted ride, but it's still very comfy. They also look great. It's funny to have a black on black car and a white on white car, although when driving the X3 with the Oyster, you'd never guess it's a white interior as pretty much everything is black except the seating surfaces and door panels, everything else is black, even the plastic inserts on the seat backs.

I actually asked the tech about that and he said its a sealed system, so the cracks shouldn't cause trouble with the motor should water get in.
That said, I've finally got a reasonable price for some 1M mirrors. I think I'll do that and the BMW Performance sideskirts all at once since I have to get both painted anyhow.

It's still doable you just have to wait a while because they come from Germany.

Too much to use the quoting system on here.
X3 looks great, though we need a proper interior shot of pimped out white on white! It does a nice job of making the 135 look tiny, too. Focus on the road though, not taking pics of what I assume is your wife driving! There are a couple of threads on here about the 1M retrofit mirror kit as some of the forum vendors were selling them. I think it might be the tischer guys but not sure. It's supposed to be a pretty simple swap and is an interesting look. For some reason I'm remembering a bunch of australian ones with it in pics. |

congrats on getting an X3 motorchimp. i've never driven one but if it's anything like the X1 it is probably way better than the F3X 3-series!!
WORRA: the best way to get the 1M mirrors is to BUY A 1M. No, REALLY. COME ON!! of all the 135is owners i see here, i think Worra and Kouper have the highest probability of BREAKING towards a 1M. lol. |

Here you go Worra - this BSM 1M has those side mirrors already installed, which should save a bit of hassle:

it's crazy how those things hold their value. I think it's all in the fender flares.

I almost went to drive Dinan's 1M that was listed at $79K then lowered to $74K. Fortunately someone bought it before I went down that sinkhole. |
