I'm actually thinking that I want to go back to the white caps for these. I think it will show the lines of the mirrors better...
Cost of parts I still need at today's exchange rate (incl. shipping): $589.08 AUD Happy with that... That's a saving of 80.4% off the local price. |

Ev from Tischer told me (based on my VIN) that I don't have Auto Dipping mirrors but I do have the thing where the passenger mirror tilts down when I'm in reverse - love that. Found this site: http://bmwfans.info/parts/catalog/E9...?search=mirror It lists another part number for the left hand mirror: MIRROR GLAS HEATED PLANE LEFT 51-16-8-046-507 USD 60.49 Version 1 is what we need for the right hand (driver's) mirror Version 2 is what we need for the left hand (passenger's) mirror That brings the price down to 601.29 USD - 561.726 AUD |

Haven't ordered them yet.. Gonna visit BMW and get confirmation of which part numbers they would order if I were to get the kit from them...
I'm a little hesitant about ordering the parts until I'm 100% that I'm getting the right bits... |

This thread needs pics of these 1M mirrors on 135s. Not enough out there to see each color example.

Yeah... We've already been through all of that... The problems are:
US ones are different part numbers - Different Glass and Electronics for LHD/RHD Confusion around Auto Dimming / Auto Dipping... One retailer in Europe is absolutely adamant that the ///M Mirrors do not have auto dipping - which we believe to be bullshit... There's also 3 different types of glass - not including heated/non-heated. Basically its just really hard to nail down exactly what is required and there's no "Kit" part number for RHD cars like there is for LHD... Oh, and BMW Australia will take care of all of this for you for the low-low price of $3000... |

I had a second attempt on my quest to get this - no one could confirm if I will retain all my original functionality (auto dip).
So no way in hell I am paying that much for something that may not work - will wait for someone else to be the guinea pig |

Seriously - not 1 single picture. Here are (I believe Original OEM Versions) on Jzhang's Monaco Blue with 1M Mirrors.

any final solution for this?
what does heated mirrors mean? lol always been confused by that also, if i have the internal auto mirror dim, does that mean i have external mirror dim (definitely have the auto reverse dip :P) ... being able to have the auto fold via coding would be the amazeballs too lol i've wanted m mirrors for so long (even on my non bmw cars haha) |
