Mobility kit - deflowered

I finally have to use the compressor yesterday as the Tyre Monitor gave an alert. There doesn't seem to much lost in pressure, but only half a pound in the right rear, but couldn't quite see where the leak is.

I reset the monitor and drove another 200km and it seem to hold but will check it out tomorrow at the tyre shop.

Never realised how handy the compressor is, so for everyone who are non-RFT, make sure you get one!

The only thing is that unless the sensor get activated because the tyre gone too hot - as the front tyre was a bit high at 40 when I took the measurement - but it was a very hot day on the Gold Coast. May be someone can shed some light how it works.

Either or, I would ask them to have less differential tomorrow, as when I check it - it was 40 front 36 rear, while I had 39/36 last time which seems to be perfect.

Sparoz, which mobility kit are you using? I ordered the Ford Econetic one, which is made by Dunlop, from work, will only cost me $100 but it's on back-order till mid-Feb.

Thinking I should look elsewhere, just in case.

System shouldn't pick up a half pound loss. You'd get more than a half pound gain on one side of the car if the sun was heating up the tyres on that side. System just works on the differential in turning rate between each wheel. Same sensors as ABS, traction control etc. I reset the monitor after I've dropped all pressures to 40psi in the garage after the car's sat unused overnight.

Took it back to the Tyre place - they forgot to reset the pressure monitor. I have got the BMW mobility kit, which includes the compressor and a bottle of goo.

When I dropped my car off this morning, I saw the mobility kit that I negotiated as a 'freebie' with my car - it had a sticker price on it of over $400! Sheez. Maybe they're still trying to recover my costs?

No leak, I must have some half ass who did my car. As there is half a pound loss on right rear. He also said the fronts were a bit out too.

I don't remember paying $400.
