£42k 135i?

Just on the configurator as I was bored and built a 135i for £41,670

However, it has got some seriously poor optional extras...

- Auto box uurrrrgghhhh
- Active steering - £925 to destroy the handling!! I didn't realise this was an option!

Yes, I'm bored

Sad thing is, as my car doesn't get built until Week 18, I have been considering Heated Seats - purely to add some buttons to the panel below the Climate Control... sad I know, but I hate those blanking plates.

Not sure I would ever use them as my car is always garaged??

My other idea is the elec folding mirrors, cause they look cool when folded ... yes I know I don't really need them!!

You can't have folding mirrors with autodim - and to me, autodimming is much more useful when driving than folding when you're stopped.

Sounds a but like my car by the way - I didn't take auto, active steering, sunroof, tow bar, tinted windows or ski-through load, but did take pretty much everything else. Toys are the work of the devil ;-)

Clived and Moff what is autodimming? i dont remember that - would it have come with another option extra?

I got about 6 or 7 extras which i thought was enough - it was about £3k in all not obviously including discount

Week 18 moff must be end of March is that right?

i dont really understand why you cant have folding mirrors and auto dim?? is auto dim just a polerising mirror with a wire runnign to the back of it!? WHY BMW WHY!

For referance i chose the folding ones, though granted i am wondering if auto dip would have been the better choise, oh well can't change it now, picking the car up at 2pm!

I know every piece of your body will be resisting the urge to sit on front of your computer, Vidge, but you must fight this and pull yourself away from your car....and post here. Let's say at 6pm, should give you enough time to have a bit of fun before you sprea the word to ya brothas.....

Have fun picking your car up.

Oh yeah you are off to exeter arent you - that is great you would have already done more miles than me and i would have had the car a week longer than you - that is so unfare

Clived that is interesting you say about auto dimming because i am 100%i did not order it (well i dont think i did) and i have it for certain in my rear view mirror - was that standard or an extra - or did i buy soemything else like xenon lights which would have given it to me??

Good Luck Vidge for 2pm - i am very excited for you

Auto-dimming rear view mirror is standard. I like that, but not on the side mirrors as it can be hard to make out cars behind you (IE police!)

Folding mirrors are essential for me - Do you guys not push your mirror in when parking somewhere that isn't in your garage (which I don't have)? I've had door mirrors smashed off twice when parked getting takeaways in high steets etc. So it's cool if they do it when you turn the car off

Folding are much more useful than dimming ones IMO. The BMW ones are good too as they're fold flush. On my Golf they fold in about 3 inches! Rubbish.

Yes, they twist, in and up.

Here we get the dimming side view mirrors along with folding mirror option with our premium package.

Yeah it is pretty lazy - but honestly my road is soo bad ( it's a side road but a cut-through, and even buses go down it! ) that the auto ones are actually worth the money.

However if you have to get through a tight spot (IE while driving) it also looks totally cool :headbang:.

And UK135 - when are you getting those pictures up buddy

sorry mate my wonderful lady is not back until Sat night....I am going to try and read my instructions this weekend to find out how to put the photos on my computer

You make a good point about the auto wingmirrors the problem is that i just needed to stop buying the extra and i had to make the cut off at some point

Am i really going to regret it? I have never had them before. I can see why you went for them

Na of course you won't regret it - like I said my road is nightmare but I'd happily buy a used 135i (if they existed) without folding mirrors. But new I'd go for them.

And yes you soooo have to draw the line somewhere with the options - hence the title of this thread

First impressions, Pleased with everything!!!!!! Sedona is almost exactly what i expected, sadly its raining, so the car is already dirty, having covered only 20 miles!!! GRRRRR.

Good God that diesel has some torque! was sitting at 70 in 6th gear, cruise control on simply pushed pushed the lever till the centre red 80, and when i looked at the speedo, i was there, no drama no questions, just straight to 80.

love the ride to, its sporty and firm but never uncomfortable, though you know you are in a sports car. i know most of you 135i owners won't be bothered, but on the way from the dealer back to the office the car averaged 41.5MPG, and although i was being gentle its still quite impressive considering how tight the engine is, this will no doubt improve as the car looses up.

over all happy as a pig in S*** just dont want to be at my desk, i want to be on th road! how annoying!!!

Welcome to the real club Vidge of actually owning one - the number is growing. Do you remember how many miles it had on it when you collected it?

I have to say you are very luck in regards to the mpg. I have been averaging 26.6 which i was quite pleased about. but that is some distance. Have you worked out how many miles roughly you can expect on a tank. I just cannot deal with deisels myself. I just think of taxi in london and black smoke - i know that is totally stupid but it just stuck in my mind forever!!

Really pleased you are happy and the ride and acceleration is exactly how i felt about the car. Even though of course i have a 135i so slightly different. Just think you have 100's of miles to look forward to this weekend to drive it in. ENJOY:biggrin:

I pretty sure I have the auto dimming exterior mirrors pack and my mirrors are definitely folding when I press the little button next to the mirror adjustment switch. But they only fold when your speed in forward or reverse is below 15 mph!!

Do you have a list of the options you ordered? Which exterior mirror option number do you have?

Hi.
Having just taken delivery of my 135i, I can confirm that auto-dim mirrors also fold electrically - the options are really 'folding' or 'auto-dim plus folding'.
