Turned out great!

I just dropped off my calipers and carriers at the powdercoater this morning, and since I did all the prep and masking myself he's only charging $60.00. Got home last night from over seas and my Z4 35is rotors were waiting for me.

great! if you don't mind would you weigh your discs just to compare between oem and aftermarket weight?

Weighed in at 23.2 lbs. (10.52 kg) on my bathroom scale. BMW ETK says 10.18 kg (22.44 lbs.). I have a calibrated and certified scale at work but I doubt I'll get around to lugging a rotor there (100 km commute each way in a vanpool!).

Picked up my calipers and carriers from the powder coater this morning!

can't wait to see them on your car with that color just warning you that with stock wheels you'll have a REAL tight feel both pulled outwards and on the sides

Sad news is I did a test fit today and the calipers won't clear the barrels of my Style 207M wheels. Going to sell everything and start over with plan "B": 130i spec 57/330/24 fronts. The process is fun, so no regrets.

Edit: currently running 12mm spacers on the front, may try 15mm as they may work...

first of all you need to have at least 18" alloys to have enough clearance.
calipers: 335i 335d e9x models WITH their caliper carrier
rotors: 335i 335d e9x models 348mm by 30mm
pads: I have hawk hp plus and they tend to squeak a bit at slow speed but it's not what you call unbearable and they're quite good. I can't tell you more on other brands as I didn't have any aftermarket pads since I owned the car except for these.

I'll have a set for sale as soon as I can take some pictures of the completed assemblies. Calipers and carriers powder coated black with new, genuine BMW seals, dust boots, bleeder nipples, nipple dust caps and anti-rattle clips. The "faces" of the anti-rattle clips are painted high-temp gloss hyper-silver (didn't make sense to powder coat a wear item). Calipers include Bimmerworld solid brake guides. Also part of the set are genuine BMW 34116794920 brake pads and Z4 35is 34116794427 lightweight brake rotors.

A picture of the calipers after I got them back from the powder coaters is a few posts up.

A word of warning: Although 17" are a stock size on E9x 335i's, not all 17" wheels on a 1er will fit. My 207Ms didn't. There's interference where the barrel tapers to a smaller diameter before mating up to the spokes and I'm running a 12mm spacer. A 15mm spacer may make it work but it'll still be very tight. 18" wheels should be no problem, but you may still need spacers to keep the calipers away from the spokes depending on what offset you're running.

Hi guys !

I finally installed my front brakes system from a F21 M135i. It was equiped with Endless MX72 pads. I replaced my Motul RBF600 by a new one. I mounted some stainless steel hoses too (from Goodridge) one year and half ago.

Here are some pics:

Now, the review... The brake force is now impressive: that impressive that I felt some strange sensations in my head and my stomach the very first time.

The pads are a little noisy when cold, but when hot, you won't hear them.

I really love the new configuration. I will update my mind during the use of them and of course after some track sessions. I will upgrade the rear with the 135i E82 brakes or something else ... I will conserve my master cylinder: as it is smaller, the pression in the circuit will be higher, that's a good point!

Short review after some kilometers : the braking force is just incredible! I really love it and advise it to each one who wants to upgrade his brakes (I have had a very good price on the kit).

Just to quantify the braking force of the stock brakes and of the M135i ones, I would like, like I posted on the 2Addicts forum, to have the size of the pistons in the calipers ...

Thanks in advance !

I'd wish you maybe look at better wheels... This set is too nice to pass up on
Good-luck with your decisions

Garr! 17 inch is such a sweet spot, and the 207Ms are a good looking wheel. I've been eyeing OZ Alleggeritas, but I've no way verifying clearance.

someone local is bound to have a set to try on. @pj.rodrigues did the same locally for his winter 17's. he then ordered them from tirerack.

on Tirerack you can say you have a 335i and then see what 17's they say will fit

Will check in some weeks with 5mm spacer front. I hope it will fit. For the moment, I don't have noises anymore

The only 17" that will fit over 335i brakes are Sport edition wheels. I forgot the style number. But I'll look it up and edit this post.

What I did was looked at what 335i wheels would fit at 17" by using tire racks site. Then I cross referenced with which wheel had a high enough offset to fit the 1er. These were the only ones and it's pretty well known.

EDIT: Sport Edition A7
