Helmet in Fairfield or Westchester County
Hey Guys,
Anyone know of a place in Westchester county NY or Fairfield county CT where I can buy/try on a helmet? I'm trying to get my helmet in time for an auto X and driving event (1st time for both). I read that it's better I try it on before I order. I'd also be willing to go into Rockland County if I had to. Thanks in advance. |

GPNY in Mt. Kisko, NY has helmets at their store. It's a karting facility, and some of their helmets are certified for karting, but it will allow you try them on for size and then order online. The only difference is that the karting helmets inside lining isn't certified as fire resistant.
Some of the "karting" helmets are actually certified as full S2000 racing helmets, so you could potentially pick one up there, but I doubt the prices are as competitive as at www.saferacer.com

Also, as a note: I ordered my helmet from Saferacer.com and it was the wrong size. I sent it back free of charge and they sent me a different size.

Thanks, I didn't realize that GPNY sold helmets. I wish I remembered the size I used. I tried on my Buddies Arai helmet and the large fit me. I was told the HJC had the same fit. I'm planning on getting the HJC ar-10. Thanks much for the advice.
