Rb turbos hopefully comming in

Hey guys so i have a 2011 US spec 1m.

Currently have full bolt on modifcations, so everything you need for extra power and i think i picking up RB turbos in the next week or so.

A forum member is selling them brand new never installed because hes going after an HPF single and should be there 2nd car.

This is very exciting for me and cant wait to get them, the 1m with upgraded turbos seems like it will be a great car especially because i think factory should have upgraded the turbos for all the boost we are running. For all of us on tunes this will also help us be more efficient.

I know people hate when there is no pictures on a forum post but im just informing the community of a project.

I also have bilstein PSS10 coilovers to put down the power obviously. This thing should be a beast and i cannot wait for these turbos to go in.

Im collecting funds as we speak and should be picking them up soon!!!
Thanks and i will try to update people.

I should be at EUROfest as well as Rallye BMWs meet on may 6th. Not sure if it could be dont by those dates but hope to see a bunch of 1M///'s!!!!!!!!

That would be terrific if you got RB's on your car. Your stock turbo's being so new should fetch you a decent payback as well.

What tune would you be using with the RB's?

Your project sounds exciting, but I don't understand this comment. Are you saying that BMW should have spec'd different turbos in-case owners decided to tune their cars?!

When we change out the turbo(s) on these cars, isnt it required that a custom tune be done to make this mod work safely?

i was under that impression as well. I thought RB turbos came with a modified JB4? but wasnt sure how that could work for a 1M.

On a side note, I love your screenname. Mine should be HKUSP45

Yes correct but you can still run the same tune as before on the RB turbos and run less taper up top.

The RB are built with a new compressor wheel, a new turbine wheel and shaft and are pretty much oem look keep the same water and oil lines im pretty sure.

They hold boost much more efficently have upgraded wastegates and can really be efficent over the stock turbos reguardless what boost your running. Im pretty sure a good mad would be running 19psi to about 5500rpms and tapering to about 15-16 psi of boost and i should get an easy 450 wheel probably more mated with methanol. So we will see!!!

Hey im not sure what tune im using yet to be honest. Im actually selling my jb4 because i need cash for the turbos but i still do have an ESS handheld and the Evolve R. Which ever way can do it i will go but when Cobb releases their stuff i feel like i will really see the most gains but we will see!

Yea a modified Jb4 and Procede have shown to put down 500 whp- 520 before fueling becomes a problem. Hopefully that will be address soon when we see what procede has done for the fueling upgrade for the n54 which is making them push 630 whp.

If i can get my hands on that i feel like these things could possibly do 550 wheel but once again we will see what happens

The guy im getting them from should be getting his car over to HPF soon and hes hoping for 530 wheel which they have put down on a 6266 im pretty sure.

They as Well need a fueling system and solenoid to up the boost, Shiv is basically the only one whose got it cracked.

Um well it sounds like that after re-reading but your right no. But we have seen that these little suckers wear over time and running 14.5 psi on overboost very low in the RPM range but still effective, to be honest i feel like this is a solution though than more of a project, if i really wanted to make 700 id go with HPF hahah.

But 500 wheel on race gas is really all i would want to be honest. That is pretty big numbers for almost a DD

Correct.

And the JB4 and Procede are not modified - you just load a map for the RBs

And congrats Our resident aussie with RBs + Meth on Procede is pushing 349.9kw at the wheel!

Cool, that is pretty straight forward, we have AET-Turbos in the UK who will take your low mileage turbo and hybrid it or supply you a complete new replacement, they do a quality job on the KO4 in my astra, might have a word with them shortly.

Yes its a hybrid replacement that enables you to run basically the whole rpm band!! Hoping to maybe get my rev limit raise to 7200 rpms!

Internal seem to be good for at least 630 WHP according to Vishnu single turbo.
