New E90 Issues
Recieved my car 3 weeks ago. (USA)
Jet Black 325i Automatic, Sport, heated seats, and Sat Radio Prep. Good points: Handling, Transmission, gas consumption, power, and sound system. :rocks: Bad points: Seat Belt makes clicky noise from the B-Pillar and is driving me NUTS! Will be bringing it to the dealer tomorrow. Run Flat tires are horrible. Vibration if you do under 65mph. Spedo is 3miles too fast. Rattling noise coming from the dash. ANYONE EXPERIENCING THE SAME ISSUES???? It only has 400 miles on it! I should have waited another month so I can get the "Comfort Access" option. Does anyone know if I can get that installed? Dealer said NO! Other than that, the car is great. Last edited by shuzmaker; 09-26-2005 at 02:16 PM.. |

yes i have pretty much the same issues and i'm at 2000 miles. i think most cars have the annoying seatbelt click. just do a search for it. there's also a TSB for it. i have the seatbelt click on both sides but it's more subdued now because i jammed a small piece of paper between the seatbelt bracket and the housing. where are your rattles coming from? seems like the gauge cluster rattle is one that some people tend to have. i also have one coming from near the windshield, where the top dash vent is. not sure if anyone else has that. the vibration under 60mph might be the shimmy problem due to flat spots or unbalanced tires...another well documented problem here. |

I think the run-flats are super smooth. Maybe it's because I came from a Honda Accord?
EDIT: no rattles for me either, but since I also have an 03 VW GTI, I'd say I'm very tolerant of rattles and most of the time tuned out from them, lol. |

Shuzmaker, just check the tyre pressure AND you may need to investigating a wheel balance & alignment. Your problem should not be happening.

You didn't get the Premium Package and you're whining about comfort access? What's that, like $500? For $500 I can take the key out of my pocket. I love cool stuff like that, but that's a little pricey for what it is.

Pricey? I thought the Premium PKG was too much 2,900USD. Comfort access is cool because of the remote starter, good for the winter. Also, the sales guy told me I couldn't get it in the E90 before I plopped down the deposit. I'm not happy about that. But I'm sure all he wanted was to unload the inventory. Plus I thought the inserting the FOB was a pointless step in conjunction with the "START/STOP" botton. |

I've hard a hard time deciding whether to get comfort access too. My car is supposedly going to be produced next week, so if I change my mind, it has to be now.
But I agree with LEDZEP on this one. It's kind of a cool trick, but nothing more. Actually, when I first started reading the reviews of the E90 earlier this year, I thought I would get CA - however, I was under the impression that it had a remote start feature. Then i heard remote start was only going to be available for automatics. As we all know, turns out there is no remote start feature whatsoever. So why bother? I'll keep the $500 I didn't spend in my pocket where the CA key would otherwise sit. Can anybody make the case FOR CA?

My 2 cents. The keyless access is pretty useful security feature than about fancy: - not easy to lose your car key(if there were one) - not need to find your car keys in the dark - not easy to rob your car because you will never leave the 'key' there and, finally , yes , - show off to your friends how wonderful your new BMW technology is! I would only be with a watered mouth watching you guys enjoying iDrive , Comfort Access and Logic 7 audio. None of these are inlcuded in our E90 standard package here in H.K.. And the damn government changed tax 2 yrs back which has imposed a 85% tax on adding Options , that now comes to: iDrive , US$5100 Logic 7, US$2500 Comfort Access, US$2500 Options I am only adding , will already empty my savings: Active Steering US$3000 Bi Xenon , US$2500 Adaptive Cornering Lights for Xenon US$1300 that would make a 325i here be $62K. Enjoy! cnt |

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3854 basically i discovered last night that my "gauge cluster rattle" was coming from the steering wheel area. try this. when your car is stopped, try nudging the wheel left and right by a little bit. mine makes a cracking/clicking sound - the exact same sound that u hear when u driving. haven't heard of a similar case here but i can't be the only one... ahh, the A/C, that's another one that i have but it's very inconsistent. soemtimes when the a/c is on, it makes a click/clack sound every few seconds..and then it stops for a while and comes back. looks like i got a car with a lot of rattles...it's quite disappointing for a $40K car less than a month old.. oh well..i hope my dealership can do something about them. |

Get a torx screw driver (I am not sure the exact size) and tighten the two screws very hard. You will notice the instrument housing is a lot stiffer now than before. Almost no movement upon pressure. While you are at it, you can tighten the two screws at the top of iDrive screen if your car is equipped with NAV. |
