M50d, but take off the stupid badges. I assume being M-hanced the M50d will have a bit more 'X' factor

The M brand is being diluted and flogged for commercial gain. I'm not a big fan of the X5M and the X6M or the M-sport treatment for that matter - even though I have had the M-sport in a number of BMWs over the years. My problem with where BMW are heading is their constant need to fill "niche" markets... the X6 is a prime example. A four seater sport coupe SUV? Funny how you can now get a 5 seat option. They will start on the even numbers soon with the 2er and even the M4. Even FWD in the next gen 1er! BMW seem to be trying to be all things to everyone and trying to fill or create new markets.

Sorry..late night rant over!

The E9x M3 is a great car - I lived with one for two years. Most of my daily driving is stop/start runs of approx 100km a day. If you live in Perth you'll know how crap our peak hours and "freeways" are.

The M3 hits it's straps above 5000 rpm. Up to there it's a bit lame IMHO. On the track it was another story!

Two years ago I bought my wife an X5 40d and my response was FAR CANAL! The torque bug bit deep and the rest is history.

If the M550d came to Australia.............
