Just called!

Started production today.
Scheduled to finish production on January 24th!
(that seems like a long time to me)

I'm a 391' production number.

Not necessarily. It depends on how BMW plays this March 22nd launch. BMW could hold the cars at the port so nothing is on the street before then. Who knows.

I personally think that is a bad idea. BMW needs to get the early birds on the street. ...but I'm in IT not Marketing.

The launch date might coincide with when they have approval to have the car legal in the US for non-manufacturers. (just a guess)

I do know that during the e90 launch, cars were held at the dealerships until the official launch day, some for weeks.

I would rather have the car sit at the dealership. I can visit it everyday.

edit: funny thing is your car spec got me thinking about it! your car will look wonderful!

edit2: is there any reason i should call back and ask for my VIN? Will it help with tracking the car on the boats? i guess i don't really understand the fascination with the vin numbers.
