How to remove A-pillar interior trim panels?
I've been looking...but so far unsuccessful...for a DIY for removing the A pillar trim panel. I'd like to see the B and C trim panel DIY's also.
Thanks. |

I'm in need of this too. Windshield replacement today left me with excess glue, which I'd like to trim, but need to remove the pillar trim panels to do so...

Hey guys, i'm new to this place...not sure if this information is still needed, BUT...
to remove the A-pillar trim pieces, take a trim removal tool (mini, plastic pry-bar) and pop out the plastic "airbag" logo. Behind it is the fastener holding the trim to the frame. Once the fastener (Torx, if I remember) is removed, you have to slide and lift to remove. Just a reminder, there is an airbag directly behind the trim. |

Just to be safe, you guys should remove the negative terminal on the battery when you're messing around with these airbags. Chances are nothing will happen, but if those explosives go off without the thing being mounted, it could cause some serious injury.

Adding this here since I don't think another/new thread is needed on this topic.
I personally don't see the need to remove the battery terminal, but I will not advise against it. Please use your own judgement and precaution when messing around in this area. That said, here are pics of where to remove the plastic cover and the Torx screw. Once the screw is out, start at the top and pull outwards towards the drivers side. There are 2 plastic clips holding the top part in. Once both of those are out pull the cover towards you (the back of the car) and up slightly to free the bottom from the dash. If anyone wants more pics let me know. I will be running wire through here again to hardwire my radar detector. I should have more than my cell phone with me when I do that as well (better pics) |
