BMW Replaced my tail lights WTF?

Picked up my car from BMW yesterday and was told they had replaced both my tail lights under warranty despite there being nothing wrong with them in the first place??

The LED tubes go bad. They did you a favor. The new units are an improved design.

I wouldn't say that!

They replaced mine as well when I was in for service. Never had an issue with them.

3-4 hours later my brand new right tail light went out.

In she goes again for another set...

The new tail light LED tube design came out in Dec, 2010. You probably got an old tail light unit.

guess there is a recall, my SA told me today mine needed to be replaced as well, have an appointment for tuesday

They have replaced mine even they have replaced them before - technically - I think they call it a warranty campaign.

But no recall in Perth.. I just got it replaced a month ago because the left hand side one is dead..
