Finally...new wheels on 128i
First, big thanks to Gill at Tirerack for shipping my order out fast...and I mean real fast!
My new setup are ASA AR2 V2's 18x8 et40 wrapped in 225/40 General Exclaim UHP's...all 4 corners. Although I would have preferred doing 245 or 255 for the rears I decided that the extra cost and probable effect on acceleration due to the weight gain over 225s was not worth it even if comestically it would look good. After all, our N52 engines do not put out a whole lot of torque to overcome the weight gain and get full benefit out of a 245 or 255 tire. That's just my thinking; no concrete evidence. My previous setup were stock 17x7 et47 wheels wrapped in 205/50 Michelin Pilot Exalto PE2's. My new Plus One setup widens my front and rear tracks by 1.5 inches each. So in a sense I do receive some gain in that the wider tracks should help in cornering. With the new setup I really do need to get a drop. I've been lobbying my family to get me springs for Father's Day. Considering their lack of response I think it's a lost cause. Here are a few pics which were taken in a hurry. I'll do better ones when I get new springs on.
