Tint bubbles up because people cheap out when tinting their honda civic and do it themselves. It starts out as a tiny bubble and then gets bigger and bigger as the air inside gets hot and expands. It usually turns purple because of it being so cheap as previously mentioned. A good tint and install will not have either of these problems.

Is there a better time of year to get windows tinted? I've been told by a few people that I shouldn't get my windows tinted in the winter. I needed to wait till spring or summer because the adhesive doesn't cure right in the cooler weather... Just a rumor or is there any truth to that?

As long as you get quality tint like 3M or companies alike all you need is about 1-2 days of good sun for the tint dry properly. However it will dry quicker in summer sun/heat not sure how much of a difference it will be during winter months if at all

Ideally, summer is best because the intense heat cures the film very quickly, within a day or two. Winter is fine as well, but it just takes longer to cure.

Speaking of curing, I know the tint shops always put those "do not open windows" for x days. I'm getting my 128 tinted this weekend (weather permitting!), but I'm worried about the automatic system that rolls the window down a smidge when you open/close the door. Has that been an issue for anyone? Also, would letting it cure for a few weeks in my garage be ok?

It'll be fine for both questions.

FYI... if you are thinking of getting Huper Optik Ceramic... it'll mess with signal quality of the fob whether you have Comfort Access or not!

I had 3M Crystalline Automotive Window Film installed by Hot Spot in Marietta, GA. Looks great on my 2010 BMW 128i and compliments the titanium silver exterior and car's black interior.

Also brought this up with my tint shop. They said they handle that by curing the very bottom strip a bit extra with their heat gun so it's essentially fully set, since the windows are essentially rolled up/down every time you open the door.
