Any 1M's heading to O'Fest?

I was suppose to race at O'Fest but since my engine grenaded 2 weeks ago I'm codriving in the enduro and driving the 1M out to the event. Since Barber MotorSports Park is such a picturesque location I was hoping we could at least put the 3 colors together.

I didn't think I'd have my 1M by mid-October or I would have planned to attend. This happens to be the same weekend as the annual Lotus Owners Gathering (in Vegas this year) and I had signed up for that several months ago. Besides, you don't need another AW 1M for the photo!

Barber is absolutely not to be missed for anyone who hasn't had a chance to see the facility, the museum or run on the track. It's basically a country club with a motorsports theme. First class all the way.

Thanks guys about the engine. Bummer I had such a strong start to the season only to end this way. I could hurry and rebuild but I'm considering moving classes so it doesn't make sense to rush a rebuild for O'fest and 1 more race in 2011.

I'll be showing up Thursday and leaving Saturday so that should be timed well.

We have an AW and a VO already so who's bringing their BSM?

Yeah, that's the class with a lot of good competition so the timing might be great.

It will be good to finally meet some folks from the forum! There's an awesome restaurant 25 minutes from that track I'll have to show you guys. It's a hole in the wall with great beers and the best southern cooking I've ever had.

I'll be there (this will be #9), but my 1M will be delivered about the time I get back. Autocross on Thursday and instructing Friday in the 330. I was really hoping to have a miracle happen early and have it be here, but that is not the case.

so I guess the next question is who is doing the concours with the 1M?

I've always wanted to attend one, but AL hasn't exactly been in my neck of the woods. With that said, my PCD is Oct 14 (Fri), so I just may decide to do a detour on the way home

The whole idea of O'Fest is to go out of your way to someplace you would not normally go to. Our trip this year will be about 2500 miles and 6 states including the Mississippi gulf coast, New Orleans, and then to Birmingham with a couple days in Memphis at the end. 14 days total. The Houston guys made a three day trip of the arrival to the Fort Worth event a few years ago. Ask Art about that.

Next year East Coast and then West Coast the next (unless somthing changes that).

Ill be there as well.. not sure how many.. this is probably 6th or 7th.. I have made every one since 2007 and also went in 1999 and 2003. My car is set to hit the dock in the US 10/03. My dealer is in South Carolina and Ofest is 10/10-10/16.

I am signed up to instruct at the track Wed, Thursday, Saturday and I can't recall Sunday. I am hoping that I can get lucky and the car clears customs and I can pick it up out during Ofest by leaving Birmingham to go get the car or by flying direct and bringing it back.. Either way.. I am doing Ofest.. have the week off work..

So.. wolfpack... we need to meet and have a beer or three... while we both pine for our cars..

Brian Watts will probably be there.. it's ofest in his home town.


Next year is Lime Rock... which I hate to say I really have little interest in going to...

I chose not to instruct since I've never driven Barber. Plus I figure it will be more fun (and less responsibility) playing student!

you would be CRAZY not to....
At the very least come to Barber and spend a couple of hours at the Museum and catch a race or two..

Yes I'm part of the "Road Monkeys" , we take mostly back roads and try to visit as many States as we can
