Thanks! I used vinyl to see how it would look and the top edges peeled up. I'm going to do something more permanent but haven't yet. Perhaps a good sharpy will do the trick.
It was good to meet M3 Adjuster tonight. Euro plates on a black 1M look sweet!

Wulffza, If you took pics of the back of my car I don't care if you post them up with my license plate. Nice pics by the way. That auto-x course looks like a great location. Large! I used to auto-x years ago and always hated small lots. If anyone is at Barber today (Sunday) please root for car 7 and 360 in B group. I'll be starting in #7 and finishing in #360. Here's a video from a race I drove yesterday. The damn battery on my GoPro died early as we forgot to shut it off earlier in the day. I got bunched up at the start and gave a love tap in turn 1. We are running this car in the 13 hours of VIR in 2 weeks so I didn't want to make any stupid mistakes and cause a bunch of work for the owner.

E36 325 with JRZ's and no aero. I put us on pole today and took the overall win!!! I drove the tires off the car and it was starving for fuel the last 3 laps!
Will post video ASAP.

I had a great week!
I think I met nearly all that are active here with the possible exception of wulfzza? Did we talk at the autocross? Since my car had not arrived at the dealer I drove my friends e46m3 at the autocross Friday. I set FTD and held it all morning (my time was faster than all of the thursday competitors as well) and only was beaten by Russ Wiles (e36 m3 lightweight) and my friend Ken who owns the car I drove. I met Dan at the club race banquet Saturday night, after my marathon trip to south Carolina to pick up my car. I left at 3am Saturday on a greyhound bus from Birmingham and reached Columbia SC at 12:30. Met my CA and picked up my car and drove it back to Barber and got there at 7pm. I drove my car in five sessions, taking friends around each session. The car felt awesome! Tons of power and torque. All my friends were amazed at the lack of any lag. I did keep MDM on, mostly because Barber can be unfriendly, and because crashing it would be a not good way to end the week! I am a member of a local track and will be able to push it there and also will be autocrossing it this coming weekend. MDM intervened in the hairpin at turn 5, in the tunnel turn, and also at the exit of the kink. The exit of the kink was worrisome as that is where one really needs to add power to keep from drifting wide. I am EXTREMELY happy with the car. In my first session i passed every car ahead of me. E36m3, e46m3, e30 m3 with s52 swap, and all this in a car on street tires with stock pads! Towards the end of each session I backed off and let other cars back by as my tires heated up. I think with R tires, perhaps camber plates, this will be a formidable track machine! |

No we didnt, would have looked out for you had I known you were there. I figured you were enroute to pick up your car. I'll go through pics and see if I got you at all, what color E46 were you in?

I wish I had met more 1Mers this weekend. I love Barber but having the paddock split up with different levels makes it hard to find people sometimes. I'll have to complain to Mr.Barber and get that fixed! I stood around several VO's for 5-10 minutes at a time hoping the owner would walk up (so I could ask if it was an M1). Oh well, I met Neil and Mark and had a successful weekend. In other words: no wrecks, no major offs, and only 2 flat spotted tires. Oh, and to put a JS car on pole and then take the overall win in Sundays enduro while handing the car to the owner with a 38 second gap near the end was surprising and had me floating on a cloud for the ride home. I have video from my qualifying session but the crew didn't push the record button before the race (dammit!!!) Anyway, I had a great time and it was good to put some faces to a few names from 1Addicts.
Here are 2 fast laps from my qualifying session on Sunday. Lap 2 was my fastest of the weekend with a 143.802. (The car has 189 RWHP) It was just 3 hundredths of a second faster than my fastest lap on Saturday. There was so damn much rubber on the track during Sundays race if you got off line the clag was ridiculous. Anyway, I'm very glad there are no pics of any twisted 1M's! Cheers to all and mad props to Mark for proving to be insanely dedicated to this beast of a car! 3am bus ride to pick it up and turn west!

Dude that's awesome! I threw down a 108.3. They said you had a 1:10 on day one and that was my target. I had a 1:17 with traction control on first run and then ran a 1:09 in my second run. Texted the car owner who was out working the course and he said "PARK IT" Lol . Course still had lots of gravel, that surface is tough on tires. Got a 1:08.8 third run and then best time was the last run. I think a 1M on R tires would have taken overall FTD handily. Russ beat me by about a second, and Ken O (owner) beat me by about 1.5 seconds. |

I'm interested to hear what other East Coast options are on the table.

Check this pic....Not a good place to have an off. This started about 100 ft earlier.
Does anyone have video of any 1M's on track or auto-xing?

Do you know whether results are posted? FWIW, I had a 111.5 but -- as you told me AFTER MY RUNS -- I was consistently taking the slaloms from the wrong side ;-) Agree that the 1M will be a terrific autox car with the right sneakers. Neil |

That's not too bad. My wife and I may be moving to Langley AFB, VA next summer, so I was hoping for VIR. Either way, I plan to make the next one.
