What the hell seriously. They must have meant to put the "configure your own" In a different sentence than "THIS FALL".

Really...

I thought I remember reading that it would be up on the 14th when they revealed it at LA??? Maybe I read wrong or it was solely referring to the pricing. Anywho, who are we all kidding about these farm animals, we know we are checking BMW USA every hour on the hour while concurrently listening to our wives/girlfriends tell us that we are not getting that car! haha jk, Where is my configurator BMW?!?!? :iono:

I emailed the BMWUSA webmaster address to ask for an ETA for the 1 Series configurator, and promptly got back a very polite reply with hardly any actual information in it. FWIW:

My dealer hinted at it being up soon after Thanksgiving... But where he's getting his info from is beyond me. So who knows?

Wouldnt you expect the new M3 configurator to be up before the 1 series??

Got the same response. I know 100% that it doesn't take more than a full day to update a website with partial new content.

Just spoke with a BMW rep online for BMWNA. He said most likely Spring of '08 for the online configurator.

I can understand the need to hide the actual physcial car from the public prior to official release, and even the pricing with it.

But an online configurator?!? Are they serious??

What's so harmful to the 1 series marketing scheme that they cannot announce/give a date for the online configurator to be active?

This is stupid already i mean. Where pricing the car out not seeing it in person. I honestly think no one knows when its gonna come out. Lets go and hold Chris Bangle hostage and the randsome can be the 1-series config lol

Wow I never realized "Winter" began in December...

From google it looks like December 21 for 2007...

So I would guess in the next 4 weeks...

I would guess people on here (myself included) would just like to get some concrete pricing. Configurators are usually "subject to price changes without notice" but are usually quite spot-on...

I dont need to see the car yet. Even if I had never seen pic's I would be interested by the basic setup/layout. But I'm not going to spend 335i (sedan) money on a 135i. I know it weighs less, but for my personal needs a Sedan would fit me better anyway, and if the cost difference doesnt end up being much, I'll probably go that exact route...

my step mother was #1 on the list for a 335xi coup that just came out a couple months ago. when the dealer called her to confirm and place her order the config was up the next day or so. I imagine when the dealers start calling us to place our orders then the config will be up
